Chattanooga Gears Up for a Weekend of Fun at Oktoberfest!

Get ready, Chattanooga! The city is set to celebrate its 23rd annual Chattanooga Oktoberfest this year with a vibrant two-day festival happening on Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th. This beloved event brings a taste of Bavaria to the heart of Tennessee, so gather your family and friends for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of fun, food, and festivities.

What to Expect This Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest isn’t just a time to enjoy delicious treats and music; it’s a chance to immerse yourself in a rich cultural experience! You’ll hear lively German accents, see folks dressed in traditional costumes, and perhaps you’ll even break into a chicken dance or two as the sun shines down on the festival grounds. Don’t forget to dress up! Whether you go for a fun costume or just throw on a fedora hat, you’ll be soaking up the Oktoberfest spirit.

A Fest for All Ages

Two days means plenty of opportunities to explore the festival. On both Saturday and Sunday, our favorites from the Chattanooga Market will showcase their crafts. Expect to see hundreds of makers, farms, and food artisans offering everything from Bavarian pretzels to delicious apple strudel, along with the season’s fresh produce.

The entertainment line-up is sure to keep spirits high. The infamous Wustbrats Oompah Band will grace us with German tunes under the big tent. They’ll be playing all weekend, providing a perfect soundtrack for your polka dancing adventures. And don’t worry if you don’t know how to dance; fun, free lessons will be available throughout the event!

Exciting Events to Look Out For

If you’re one who thrives on competition, don’t miss the stein hoisting contest and brat toss—two of the festival’s fan favorites! Show off your skills and you could win some cool prizes. Plus, set your watches for Saturday evening at 7 PM, when the annual Mr. and Ms. Chattanooga Oktoberfest Contest takes place. It’s all about fun and participation, so anyone is welcome to join in! Just head to the tent by 6:45 PM to get in on the action.

Food, Beer, and More!

What’s a fest without mouth-watering food and refreshing drinks? You’ll find an array of Bavarian cuisines, expertly crafted by local vendors. And beer lovers, rejoice! Known for its extensive selection of local and seasonal beers, Chattanooga Oktoberfest will feature two covered Bier Gartens. Check out the LOCALS Bier Garten for a taste of your favorite local brews, all while you kick back with live music and plenty of seating.

Remember to grab a commemorative beer stein to enjoy your drinks, as they’ll be sold at every beer station. To keep things hassle-free, beer and merchandise transactions will be cashless, but most vendors will still accept cash alongside cards.

Logistics and Other Details

Mark your calendars with these hours: Saturday from 10 AM to 8 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM. While the event is free to attend, make sure to snag some fun Oktoberfest merchandise while it lasts—think glass beer steins, t-shirts, and unique accessories!

One note to keep in mind: pets are not allowed in the pavilion area, so make sure they have their own plans for the weekend.

Join in the Fun!

Chattanooga Oktoberfest is shaping up to be a highlight of the fall season, full of laughter, connections, and cherished memories. So, gather your pals, put on those vibrant German costumes, and head to Chattanooga for a weekend that delights the senses. Can’t wait to see you there!
