Exciting New Attractions in Chattanooga!
Hey there, fellow Chattanoogans! If you haven’t been out and about lately, you’re in for a treat. Our vibrant city has been rolling out some incredible new attractions that you absolutely won’t want to miss. Whether you’re a family looking for outings or just someone seeking a little adventure in your day, there’s something for everyone!
Welcome to The Cape of Africa at the Chattanooga Zoo!
First up, we have The Cape of Africa, the newest and most exciting expansion at the Chattanooga Zoo. It’s their biggest addition yet and trust us, it’s a game changer! This fantastic new exhibit features four amazing animal species: Cape porcupines, warthogs, servals, and the majestic Aldabra tortoises. You can see these animals in their new habitats and learn more about their unique behaviors and characteristics. But that’s not all! The giraffe yard has also been expanded. Just imagine seeing those towering creatures stretching their necks in a larger, more expansive area!
And for those of you who are parents, you know how essential accessibility can be. The zoo has added a new ramp, meaning you can stroll right up to see the red pandas without worrying about hauling a stroller up steps. This will make visiting the zoo less stressful for parents and more enjoyable for everyone!
A Cardboard Wonderland at the Creative Discovery Museum!
Next on our list is the Creative Discovery Museum which is hosting a temporary exhibit called “Reimagine: A Cardboard Wonderland”, running until January 5th. Just the name makes me excited! This interactive exhibit invites kids (and adults too, let’s be honest) to think outside the box — literally! The museum has set up a creative space where you can use old cardboard boxes to build your own masterpieces. From colorful butterflies and flowers made of cardboard to play areas like a reading nook and a theater, there’s something that will spark your imagination.
This is a fantastic opportunity for children to engage in creative play. Who knew cardboard could be so fun?
Hop on the Train for Rails, Wizards, and Spells!
Calling all Harry Potter fans! You absolutely cannot miss the Rails, Wizards, and Spells experience at the Tennessee Valley Railroad. Running through October 27th, this event is perfect for families looking for a magical experience. Bring your love for trains and all things wizardly together in one spectacular outing.
Your adventure starts as you enter the Enchanted Forest and make your way to Wizard’s Way, where you can purchase handcrafted wands, magical charms, and scrumptious seasonal treats! Then, you’ll board the train at Platform 4 ½. The ride will take you all the way to Chamberlain Crossing Station. This is not just any train ride; it’s full of surprises! Upon arrival, you’ll be able to explore unique items for purchase and watch the engine turn around for your return trip back to Grand Junction.
