Hey, Chattanooga! If you haven’t spotted it already, you may want to keep your eyes peeled for something truly unique rolling through your city. That’s right, the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is in town, and it’s bringing all the joy along with it!
Meet the Hot-Doggers
This past weekend, Cooper Albert and Kaitlyn Goldstein, known as Coop Dawg and Corndog Kait, were busy spreading smiles while driving their beloved hot dog on wheels, affectionately named “Oh I Wish.” Their itinerary included stops at the Chattanooga Zoo’s Boo in the Zoo, the Cleveland Apple Festival, and the Chattanooga Market, where they connected with the local community and handed out Wiener Whistles to excited festival-goers.
A Flavorful History
Did you know the Wienermobile has quite a story? The concept dates back to 1936 when Oscar Mayer’s nephew, Carl Mayer, had a bright idea for a marketing campaign to bring a bit of joy to his town. With a passion for fun and a dash of creativity, he transformed the company car using the entire marketing budget of the year into something extraordinary – a giant hot dog on wheels! Fast forward to today, and Oscar Mayer has a fleet of six Wienermobiles rolling across the country, ready to brighten everyone’s day.
A Day in the Life of a Hot-Dogger
The hot-doggers have quite the adventure throughout the year. “It’s a one-year position,” shares Dawg. “Every week, we’re off to a new city attending festivals, events, and parades. We go where the fun is!” Just like a whirlwind tour, they’ve been traveling throughout the Southeast since June. “We were recently in Memphis and Charlotte and are heading to Birmingham next,” shared Coop Dawg with a big smile.
“Driving the Wienermobile is such a unique experience,” added Corndog Kait. “It’s like being in an RV on a road trip, but everyone you pass is honking, waving, and snapping your photo!” Talk about a memorable commute!
Why They Chose This Adventure
So, what inspired them to become hot-doggers? For Coop Dawg, it’s a family tradition. “My grandmother was a huge fan of Oscar Mayer hot dogs. She would sing that famous wiener song every time she cooked them!” With a marketing and Spanish degree from Carroll University, he knew he needed to bring joy to others through this fun role.
Corndog Kait, who graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a degree in Political Science, also found her path to the Wienermobile serendipitously. “I submitted my resume and cover letter in person when the Wienermobile rolled onto my campus during my senior year, and the rest is history!” she explained excitedly.

Oscar Mayer encourages anyone with a college degree and a valid driver’s license to apply. “You really just need to be ready for an adventurous year on the road,” said Corndog Kait. “It’s truly buns of fun!”
