FESTIVALS

Riverbend Music Festival

The Riverbend Festival, often known as Riverbend, was a well-known yearly music festival that began in June 1982 as a five-night festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The festival has grown over the years to the current nine-night run, and it now ranks in the top 10% of all American festivals. Riverbend has also received numerous national awards from the International Festivals and Events Association, including eight in 2007. Riverbend’s popularity has grown over the years, and it now attracts over 650,000 visitors from all over Tennessee, the Southeast, the United States, and other nations. Individual nights can attract upwards of 80,000 people. The festival takes its name from a bend in the Tennessee River.

The Festival was officially canceled in 2020 due to the Covid outbreak.
Each year, over a hundred acts, both well-known and new, converge on different stages along the Tennessee River to perform a variety of music, including classic rock, country, urban, and bluegrass, as well as jam bands. The Coca-Cola Platform, a barge that has been turned into a full-size music stage, hosts headlining acts every night. The barge floats close to the water’s edge, opposite a massive collection of amphitheater seats constructed into a hillside. Other stages are sponsored by major local and national firms such as Covista Communications, Unum, and Budweiser across the riverfront area.

People with special scannable wristbands are admitted, which can be purchased for a discounted price in southeast Tennessee and north Georgia in the weeks preceding up to the festival or for a standard charge at the gate. People with collectible Riverbend Pins were formerly granted admission. Except for the Bessie Smith Strut, a wristband grants entrance for one or all nights of the event. Tokens are used to purchase concessions, and numerous street vendors set up food and souvenir stands.

Nightfall Friday Night Music Series

“Favorite downtown event” in Chattanooga.

Chattanooga Presents’ free nightfall concert series will take place every Friday night in 2021 from June 4th through September 10th, rain or shine, in the outdoor setting of miller plaza and miller park in downtown Chattanooga.

Our first performance will take place on June 4th at 7 p.m. The finalists from the path to nightfall will be shown. This year’s winner will be chosen from three bands. Show your support for these amazing local artists by attending.

This year, we want to give a special shout-out to our local musicians. In June, join us every Friday for a showcase of just local artists.

Come early to our midnight art market in Miller Park, which opens at 6:00 p.m., and shop for handmade artisan goods. At 6:30 p.m., beverage tickets and food trucks go on sale.

In the center of Chattanooga, Nightfall offers a multi-week schedule of diverse, high-quality musical entertainment. In 2021, Nightfall will celebrate its 34th season, presenting a diverse range of musical genres performed by outstanding national and international musicians, many of whom will be performing in our city for the first time. Artists, lawn games, and family-friendly activities will all be available in the new Miller Park.

Nightfall has brought us together as a community, and it’s more than simply a combination of amazing music and concessions. Nightfall provides a musical program as diverse as the faces in the audience and contributes to Chattanooga’s cultural offerings by carefully selecting artists.

Nightfall has long played an important role in fostering the general health and vibrancy of downtown Chattanooga, in addition to delivering tailored entertainment. The spirit of nightfall produces a one-of-a-kind intangible for our city, and it’s something really special about the community Nightfall generates.
