Brightening Christmas in Chattanooga: Adopt an Angel Today!

Brightening Christmas in Chattanooga: Adopt an Angel Today!

Chattanooga is feeling a little extra festive this year, and it’s all thanks to the wonderful partnership between The Salvation Army and Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU). If you haven’t heard about the Angel Tree program, it’s a delightful initiative that’s set to make this holiday season merry and bright for children and families in need throughout our community.

How the Angel Tree Works

The idea is simple yet incredibly powerful. Each Angel on the tree represents a local child’s Christmas wish, and the community gets to play Santa! From now until December 11th, folks can visit select TVFCU branches, grab an Angel tag, and shop for gifts like clothing or toys that these children have dreamed of receiving.

Participating Branches

For anyone interested in adopting an Angel, here are the TVFCU branches where you can find those heartwarming tags:

  • Hixson
  • Eastgate
  • Ooltewah
  • City Center
  • Southside
  • Hamilton Place
  • Soddy-Daisy
  • Highway 58
  • Cleveland South (Ends Dec. 2)
  • Cleveland North (Ends Dec. 2)

The Impact of Your Generosity

Each tag provides important details such as the child’s name, age, clothing sizes, and their holiday wish list. By adopting an Angel, you’re not just buying gifts—you’re making a real difference in a child’s life, giving them the chance to experience the joy that many of us often take for granted.

Major Douglas McClure, area commander of The Salvation Army of Chattanooga, expressed his gratitude saying, “Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union has been an invaluable partner in our Angel Tree program for several years. Their dedication to the community makes a real difference in the lives of hundreds of families, bringing Christmas joy to children across our region.”

Returning Your Gifts

Once you’ve shopped for your adopted Angel, it’s essential to return the untouched gifts to the same branch where you picked up the tag. The Salvation Army employees will then ensure that each child receives their presents well in time for the holidays. It’s a fantastic way to wrap up your holiday shopping while spreading cheer to families who need it most!

Why This Matters

The holiday season can be very magical, but for some families, it poses challenges that can overshadow the festivities. That’s where you come in! By participating in the Angel Tree program, you’re stepping up to help create those magical moments for children who might not otherwise have a Christmas to remember.

Get Involved!

So, Chattanooga, are you ready to spread some love this holiday season? If you need more information about the Angel Tree program or want to learn how you can help, don’t hesitate to reach out to The Salvation Army of Chattanooga at 423-756-1023. Let’s all come together to make this year special for everyone. Together, we can continue this tradition of joy and giving in our community.

Happy holidays, and let’s make a few dreams come true this Christmas!
