Arrest Made in East Brainerd Home Invasion After Four Years of Fear and Investigation

Four Years Later, Arrest Made in East Brainerd Home Invasion

In a case that has gripped the East Brainerd community for the past four years, law enforcement has finally apprehended a suspect linked to a violent home invasion that occurred in 2020. The details of this incident, which involved gunfire, a gang, and a fortunate escape, continue to send chills through residents.

The 2020 Incident

Back on October 28, 2020, at around 11:00 PM, a distressing 911 call from a frantic resident sparked a massive police response to 8500 Standifer Gap Road. In the chaos of the situation, a woman reported that someone had entered a house and started shooting. She could be heard saying, “We don’t need an ambulance… dude dead. We need the police ASAP.” Meanwhile, across the street, a terrified resident confirmed shots had shattered her home’s window.

This terrifying home invasion was no random act of violence. It was part of a calculated robbery involving three members of a violent gang from West Tennessee, specifically targeting a former member who was living with his cousin, Travist Patrick.

A Deadly Encounter

As the story unfolded, it turned out that Travist Patrick was cornered by the intruders, one of whom was armed with an AK-47. A tense confrontation occurred that resulted in Antoine Allen, one of the intruders, being shot and killed in Patrick’s kitchen. Patrick, in a split-second decision made to protect himself and his home, engaged in a fierce gun battle with the other two intruders.

Sheriff Detective Jason Maucere revealed that the violent sequence of events led to bullets flying not just inside the home but also outside, endangering neighboring residents. A woman living nearby later recounted how she ducked for cover as bullets shattered her window and narrowly missed where she had been sleeping.

The Arrest

Fast forward to just this past Friday, and authorities managed to track down Travien Cenar Reddick, a 23-year-old suspect involved in this notorious home invasion. Reddick was arrested by state troopers in Nashville and is now facing serious charges. The investigation, which began after that chilling night of violence, took careful work by detectives who pieced together the evidence from the scene.

A Growing Crime Scene

Upon arriving at the Standifer Gap residence in 2020, deputies found a chaotic scene. A man lay deceased in the kitchen, and Patrick claimed self-defense in the shooting. Investigators discovered a staggering amount of firearms, along with a large cache of illegal drugs found in a vehicle parked outside the home, suggesting the operation involved much more than just a robbery gone wrong.

Among other items found was a cell phone resting on top of the car trunk and various firearms that painted a picture of the tumultuous events that had unfolded.

Gang Connections Come to Light

The violent nature of this crime has ties to a gang known as the GetBack Gang, based in Crockett County. After the shooting in Chattanooga, law enforcement received reports of retaliatory violence linked to the gang, revealing how deep and dangerous the connections ran. Videos on social media showed gang members memorializing Allen while issuing threats to those who crossed them.

A Community on Edge

Residents of East Brainerd are left reflecting on that frightening night when gunfire rattled their community. As the case unfolds and Reddick faces justice, many may be left wondering about the safety of their neighborhoods—and what can be done to prevent such harrowing incidents in the future.

Final Thoughts

As always, police encourage citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. The hope is that the apprehension of Travien Cenar Reddick signals the beginning of justice for everyone impacted by this alarming home invasion. The community can breathe a small sigh of relief as they take steps to reclaim their sense of security once more.
