Chattanooga Gears Up for Fourth Annual CHA Hip-Hop Week Celebration

Chattanooga’s CHA Hip-Hop Week Returns for Its Fourth Year

Hey there, Chattanooga! Get ready to mark your calendars because the fourth annual CHA Hip-Hop Week is just around the corner! Starting on Sunday, October 6, this exciting week-long celebration is set to fill our downtown area with energy, creativity, and a whole lot of talent. Whether you’re a fan of hip-hop music, art, or community events, there’s something for everyone, so don’t miss out!

What to Expect This Year

This year, Hip-Hop Week isn’t just about the music—it’s a vibrant mix of art exhibits, basketball tournaments, poetry readings, and more. And of course, live musical performances will be happening across the city. It’s a perfect opportunity to soak in some rich culture while you meet new friends and enjoy all the fun activities!

The highlight of the week will be the legendary rapper Bun B, who will headline the event with a special fireside chat on Friday, October 11. Bun B is a major name in the hip-hop world, and this event is one you certainly won’t want to miss. Plus, there will be the fantastic Black and Yellow Affair that same night for a night full of music and celebration!

Workshops for Aspiring Artists

But wait! There’s more! If you’re someone looking to break into the music industry or if you’re already in the game but want to sharpen your skills, you’re in luck! There will be free music business workshops happening from Wednesday to Saturday as part of the festivities. These workshops will cover a variety of important topics such as workforce demand, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship resources. Just remember, a little advance registration will be required—so get your spot early!

Get Involved!

Dame Dash from Roc-A-Fella Records giving a keynote speech. “We saw businesses in the area get a lot of impromptu shows and attention from big-name artists. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved,” shared Micah Chapman, co-founder of CHA Hip-Hop Week and Summit.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for our local artists and entrepreneurs to shine, while also giving businesses a chance to connect with the community in a fun and engaging way. If your business is interested in participating or sponsoring the event, feel free to reach out to organizers directly at cahiphopsummit@gmail.com.

Join the Celebration!

The good news is that most events throughout Hip-Hop Week are free and open to the public, making it easy for everyone to enjoy this celebration of art and culture. Keep in mind that events will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s best to arrive early and join in on the fun!

If you’re curious about the full schedule of events, need to secure tickets for the fireside chat, or want to learn more about local business participation, check out the handy website: chattanoogahiphopweek.com.

Chattanooga, let’s come together to support our local artists and enjoy a week filled with exciting events and activities.
