A tragic accident occurred on Saturday night on Highway 153, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old motorcyclist. Jaylen Lindsey, the young man involved, was riding his motorcycle when the collision happened.
The Chattanooga Police Department reported that they responded to the scene at around 9:15 p.m. The incident took place in the 5300 block of Highway 153. When officers arrived, they discovered the motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries.
Both the Chattanooga Fire Department and Hamilton County EMS were quickly called to the scene. EMS transported Lindsey to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The CPD’s Traffic Unit has launched an investigation into the incident. Based on their preliminary investigation, it appears that Lindsey was traveling north on Highway 153 on his motorcycle when the accident occurred. A 36-year-old woman, driving a Jeep Wrangler, was turning onto Highway 153 when the motorcycle collided with her vehicle.
This unfortunate event has left the community in shock, and authorities are working diligently to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash. Witnesses or anyone with information related to the accident are encouraged to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
