Chattanooga City Offices Closes for Good Friday, Trash Collection Continues

In an announcement made by the City of Chattanooga services, it is highlighted that the city offices will be closed on Friday, March 29, 2024, in recognition of the Good Friday holiday. However, trash and recycling scheduled pickups will continue as normal.
Collections for Trash and Recycling
Residents are reminded to place their containers along the curbside before 7:00 AM on the collection day to ensure their trash and recycling materials won’t be missed by the collection services. Though the public offices will be closed for the holiday, there will be regular trash and recycling pickup for the day.
Closure of Birchwood Landfill
Additionally, the Birchwood Landfill will remain closed on Friday, March 29 and will return to its normal operating hours on Monday, April 1. In addition to Birchwood Landfill, several other facilities will be closed on Good Friday.
Schedule of Other Facilities
The Wood Recycle Center, Household Hazardous Waste Facility, Refuse Collection Center, Recycle Collection Center, and Birchwood Landfill will operate on specific hours. Moreover, these centers will be closed on Good Friday, March 29, 2024. The following day, on Saturday, March 30, these facilities will reopen for a limited time. Their schedules are as follows:
- Wood Recycle Center: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Household Hazardous Waste Facility: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Refuse Collection Center: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Recycle Collection Center: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
However, on Sunday, March 31, these centers will once again be put on a halt and will resume their regular business hours on Monday, April 1.
