Chattanooga Community Gathers for Angel Tree Program to Spread Holiday Cheer

Chattanooga Families Embrace the Spirit of Giving with Angel Tree Program

In the festive heart of Chattanooga, the holiday season is underway, and the community is gearing up to make dreams come true through the beloved Angel Tree program. The Salvation Army of Chattanooga is thrilled to partner once again with the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU) for this heartwarming initiative, which has brought smiles to countless children and families over the years.

Your Chance to Share Joy

From November 7 through December 11, individuals and families can step into any of the participating TVFCU branches and help light up a child’s holiday season. Each branch will have a gorgeous tree adorned with Angel tags. This year, the participating locations truly cater to reaching every corner of our community.

How Does It Work?

If you’re interested in becoming part of this wonderful tradition, it’s as simple as visiting a participating branch. While there, you’ll find a tag from the tree featuring an Angel—the tag represents a local child along with their specific needs and holiday wishes. Isn’t that just lovely? Each tag reveals information such as the child’s name, age, clothing sizes, and a heartfelt wish list, making it a personal and meaningful shopping experience.

Once you’ve selected an Angel, the next step is to shop for gifts tailored to the child’s wishes. Whether it’s a cozy sweater or a fun new toy, your choices can truly light up a child’s face this Christmas. After you’ve gathered your goodies, simply return the unwrapped items to the TVFCU branch from which you adopted your Angel. Don’t worry, The Salvation Army ensures these gifts are delivered to families in time for the holiday festivities!

Why Is This Important?

This initiative is more than just gift-giving; it’s about community connection. For many families, the holiday season can be tough—financial constraints can make it hard to provide the joy of Christmas that every child deserves. That’s where Angel Tree steps in, bridging the gap between need and joy.

Major Douglas McClure, Area Commander of The Salvation Army of Chattanooga, expressed gratitude towards TVFCU, stating, “Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union has been an invaluable partner in our Angel Tree program for several years. Their dedication to the community makes a real difference in the lives of hundreds of families, bringing Christmas joy to children across our region.”

Join the Movement of Giving

Embracing the spirit of giving is easier than ever. By participating in the Angel Tree program, you’re not just providing gifts; you’re sharing hope and joy, creating unforgettable memories for both the giver and receiver. So you see, it’s not merely about the presents; it’s carrying forward the tradition of community support and compassion that makes our city truly special.

If you’d like more information or have any questions about the program, reach out to The Salvation Army of Chattanooga at (423) 756-1023. They’re happy to help and guide you through this heartwarming initiative. This season, let’s make sure the spirit of Christmas shines brightly in every corner of our community. Together, we can make a real difference!
