Remembering a Lifelong Resident
Born on July 24, 1934, Edna spent her entire life in Chattanooga, where she created a legacy that touched many hearts. Her education journey began at Howard High School and continued at Tennessee State University in Nashville, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. From a young age, she embraced her faith, accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, which indeed set the course for her inspiring life’s work.
A Prayer Warrior
Chocolate’s spiritual dedication was truly remarkable. As a fervent prayer warrior, she committed countless hours to praying for her family, friends, and community. Her deep faith saw her actively participating in church life at First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe, as well as previously at Brainerd Baptist Church and First Baptist Church, East 8th Street. Whether leading Bible study groups, directing vacation Bible school, or sharing her joy through song in the choir, Chocolate poured her heart into everything she did.
