As the countdown to Election Day winds down, residents of Chattanooga are buzzing with excitement—and maybe a touch of nerves. But fear not! The Chattanooga Election Day Hub is here to provide nonpartisan support for all voters on Tuesday, ensuring that everyone gets their chance to make their voice heard. Organized by a coalition of community organizations including Civic TN and The Tennessee Democracy Network, the hub will be set up at The Urban League of Chattanooga to assist locals in navigating their voting experience.
At the hub, you’ll find a variety of resources designed to help you get to the polls smoothly and efficiently. One of the standout features is their commitment to inclusivity; to make sure that language barriers don’t hinder anyone’s right to vote, interpreters will be available for non-English speaking voters. That’s right—every voice matters and there’s help to make sure everyone can participate.
For those who may have transportation challenges, the hub will also be providing free rides to any polling location within Hamilton County, depending on driver availability. So whether you’re working a long shift or simply don’t have a car, there’s no need to worry. They’ve got your back!
In addition to the hub’s offerings, AARP Tennessee is teaming up with the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) to provide free rides on their multimodal transit system on Election Day. This service includes all city bus routes as well as Care-A-Van, which assists disabled residents. What a fantastic way to make it even easier for our community to come out and vote!
But that’s not all! For those who prefer rideshare services, both Uber and Lyft are getting in on the action. Uber is offering a generous 50% off rides to polling places (up to $10) when you use the “Go Vote” tile to book your ride. Meanwhile, Lyft is also providing a 50% discount with the code VOTE24, valid from 5 AM to 10 PM across all time zones. This means you can effortlessly swing by the polls without breaking the bank!
With all these efforts happening around Chattanooga, it’s heartening to see the community come together to empower every voter to step up for what they believe in. Whether you need a ride, translation assistance, or simply want to learn more about the candidates, the support available is abundant and ready to help. So, as November 5th approaches, let your voice be heard, Chattanooga! Every vote counts, and you’ve got all the resources you need to make it to the polls ready and informed. Let’s show up and make a difference!
