Residents and visitors of Chattanooga are in for a fun-filled week as the city gears up to host a slew of exciting activities and events. From Taco Week to the unique Top Tomato Festival, the scenic city of Chattanooga offers a variety of entertainment options that guarantee a memorable experience.
Starting from July 15 to 21, the city will host the Chattanooga Taco Week, an event that celebrates the universal love for tacos. With the participation of up to 24 local restaurants, the event will offer a special menu featuring taco items priced at just $5. Participants stand a chance to win exciting prizes as they explore the diverse taco flavors that Chattanooga has to offer. Whether you are a fan of meaty or veggie-filled tacos, Taco Week promises to cater to every palate.
On July 14, Chattanooga Market will also host the Top Tomato Festival which draws culinary enthusiasts and families across the state. Apart from fresh produce, this popular event provides a platform for making Bloody Mary tastings that can be enjoyed by the entire community. The festival also welcomes budding and accomplished musicians to perform live, adding to the lively atmosphere.
On Friday, July 19, Tennesseans will have the chance to enjoy an al fresco dining experience, forecasted to be the most ideal outdoor dinner of the state by Fabuwood. This night is projected to have the temperature hovering around 89 degrees with an 18.5% chance of rain. Fabuwood used data from WeatherSpark to identify the most perfect evening of summer for outdoor dining in each state. Thus, Chattanoogans can look forward to an amazing night of open-air dining under the stars.
Art enthusiasts will have plenty to look forward to as well, with a range of exhibitions taking place throughout the week. From the Area 61 Gallery showcasing Mike Holsomback’s “School’s. Out. For. Summer.” to the member exhibits at the AVA Gallery, the city’s vibrant art scene is on full display. Other highlights include the Hunter Museum of American Art’s drop-in art experience inspired by the permanent collection or temporary exhibit, “Art Deco Glass”, and the Clearstory Arts joint exhibit of “Elsewhere: Pulling Forth the Invisible”.
Outdoor lovers can participate in the “Fear and Dread at Ringgold Gap”, a kayak tour of Ringgold Gap and South Chickamauga Creek. Organized by the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park in association with Outdoor Chattanooga and National Park Partners, this tour promises adventure and historical insights in equal measures. Bird lovers, on the other hand, will find delight in the Photographic Society of Chattanooga’s seminar which will discuss “The Decisive Moment in Wildlife Photography”.
In short, the city of Chattanooga stands ready to welcome all in for a thrilling week full of entertainment, food, art, culture and a whole lot of fun.
