Chattanooga Prepares for Exciting First Good Food Fair on October 5th

Chattanooga to Host Its First-Ever Good Food Fair

Chattanooga, get ready for a thrilling new event right in the heart of the city! The Chattanooga Food Center is gearing up to launch the very first Good Food Fair on Saturday, October 5th, and it promises to be a fun-filled day dedicated to educating families about healthy eating, the food cycle, and how to access nutritious foods in our community.

What to Expect

The fair will take place at the BlueCross BlueShield Healthy Place in Highland Park from 10 AM to 2 PM. This isn’t just another health fair; it’s an engaging festival designed specifically for families and children. The day is packed with exciting, interactive activities that will encourage kids to learn about food in a hands-on way.

Expect a lively atmosphere where children can dive into various food-focused exhibits, including a unique seed to compost walking track. Here, families can explore the journey of food right from where it’s grown to how we can reduce waste, all while participating in fun activities. But that’s not all!

Hands-On Fun and Learning

The Good Food Fair is a treasure trove of educational experiences. Kids can look forward to cooking demonstrations where they’ll learn how to whip up simple, healthy meals. There will also be composting education sessions aimed at highlighting the importance of reducing food waste—an important lesson for us all.

Creative young minds will love the art and crafts area, while storytime will captivate the little ones with tales centered around food and nutrition. Families can also engage in outdoor games and munch on nutritious snacks throughout the day. And let’s not forget about the first 100 children who will snag a free Good Food Fair t-shirt as an added souvenir of their fun day!

A Welcoming Environment for Parents

Parents, this event is just as much for you! You’ll have the perfect opportunity to connect with a variety of health professionals on-site, including a pediatrician, dentist, and nutritionist. This friendly setting allows you to ask questions, seek advice, and gather valuable information about your children’s health, all while soaking up the festive atmosphere.

Discover Local Resources

What’s a fair without some community involvement? Families can explore a vendor and resource marketplace featuring local organizations such as La Paz, Lifespring Pediatrics, Crabtree Farms, and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. Connecting with these resources is vital as they strive to enhance the health and well-being of our community.

Why Attend?

Research has shown that better access to nutritious foods is linked to improved learning, mental health, and a stronger local economy. The Good Food Fair aims to play a part in fostering these positive outcomes by equipping families with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in Chattanooga. The festival is a golden opportunity to instill healthy habits in children that can last a lifetime.

Join Us!

The Chattanooga Food Center is incredibly excited about this inaugural event and encourages all families in the area to attend. Mark your calendars for October 5th and prepare for a day filled with knowledge, fun, and community spirit at the Good Food Fair. We can’t wait to see you there!
