Inspection Scores Released for Local Food Establishments Ending March 25, 2025

Hey there, food lovers of Chattanooga and surrounding areas! It’s that time again when we take a peek at how our favorite local grub spots are holding up under the watchful eyes of health inspectors. Every year, those in Hamilton County, Catoosa County, and Walker County get inspected twice a year, and let’s just say, some places are really feeling the heat. The scores have just rolled in for the week ending March 25, and we’ve got the scoop on who’s cooking up a storm and who’s cooking up trouble.

The Grading System

When it comes to inspections, establishments are graded on a 100-point scale. A score of less than 70 means a call for reinspection to ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are met. It’s clear that this system is put in place to keep diners safe—and happy!

Inspection Scores Revealed

Let’s dive right into the scores, shall we? First up, we’ve got El Jarochito, which managed to score a 71. It looks like they had some serious issues, including a lack of control over foodborne illness, no running water at the hand sink, and raw meat stored above cooked rice. Yikes! That’s not exactly appetizing.

Next, we have Amigo’s, coming in with a score of 76. They had similar issues with managerial control and food handling, plus employees were spotted sipping on personal drinks in the prep area. Not the best practice showcasing safety and hygiene!

Things seem to improve a bit with Wings Town, scoring an 85. However, they weren’t off the hook—food was consumed on the cook line, and handwashing practices were lacking. It seems that they’ve got quite a bit to work on!

On a more troubling note, Silhouettes Bikini Sports Bar & Grill dug themselves a hole with a score of 69. Issues included a lack of cleanliness, unclean restrooms, spoiled food, and dirty kitchen equipment. Let’s hope they clean up their act—literally!

One establishment that turned things around beautifully is Rodizio Grill. They started with a 71 but managed to bounce back with a stellar score of 95 on their follow-up inspection after addressing food safety concerns. Way to go!

High-Achievers Take the Spotlight

Now, let’s not forget the shining stars! Several establishments scored a perfect 100. Among these top-notch spots are 21st Century Child Development & Learning Center, McDonald’s, LaFayette High School, Spare Time Entertainment (VIP Bar), and Top Golf at Camp Jordan Parkway. Kudos to them for keeping those kitchen standards soaring!

Common Concerns

Across the board, inspectors are raising eyebrows at issues related to food storage practices, cleanliness, and employee hygiene. These areas are often where improvements can be made. It’s a friendly reminder for all food establishments to keep things in check, ensuring that customers enjoy the best possible dining experience while staying safe.

What To Do If You Have Concerns

If you come across any health-related concerns while dining out, don’t hesitate! You can easily file a complaint with the respective health departments. Here’s a quick rundown:

  • Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department: 423-209-8110
  • Catoosa County Health Department: 706-406-2030
  • Walker County Health Department: 706-639-2574

With these scores now out in the open, it’s up to us, the community, to support our local eateries that are making the effort to provide safe and delicious food. Happy dining, folks!
