Chattanooga, Tenn. — A Friday afternoon turned into a real-life action movie when two men in Hamilton County found themselves at the center of a high-speed chase after they allegedly took off in a stolen vehicle. 🚓 If you were in the area, you likely couldn’t miss the commotion that ensued!
According to information from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the drama kicked off when an Automated License Plate Reader alerted deputies about a stolen vehicle cruising on Middle Valley Road near Valleywood Drive. Talk about getting off on the wrong foot! When deputies spotted the vehicle near Bowman Road, it was just the beginning of a chase that kept everyone on their toes.
The plot thickened when the driver of the stolen vehicle decided to hit the gas and sped onto Highway 27, much to the surprise of the pursuing law enforcement officers. Things escalated quickly as deputies attempted a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, the driver put the pedal to the metal and took off, leading deputies and officers from the Red Bank Police Department on a wild pursuit.
At different points during the chase, authorities deployed two sets of spike strips in an effort to halt the runaway ride. But get this—the suspect ran right over them! It’s like something straight out of a thriller film. Despite the tire puncturing attempts, the driver managed to evade capture once again.
With classic determination, the HCSO then employed a strategy to box in the vehicle. Just when it seemed they were closing in, the driver rammed into one of the deputies’ patrol units and took off again. Can you believe the audacity? That’s not exactly how you earn points with the police, let alone stay out of trouble!
Eventually, the chase reached downtown Chattanooga, where deputies pulled off a well-executed PIT maneuver. For those who might not be aware, a PIT maneuver is when law enforcement uses their vehicle to corner a suspect’s vehicle, causing it to spin out. And let me tell you, they finally succeeded in bringing the chase to a halt!
Once the stolen vehicle was finally immobilized, chaos erupted as four individuals inside the car made a run for it on foot. It looked like a scene straight from an action flick! Thankfully, deputies were quick on their feet and managed to apprehend three of the suspects. Unfortunately, the driver remains at large, leaving authorities scratching their heads.
HCSO has since charged one of the passengers, Quincy E. Harris, with multiple offenses, while another passenger, Tramel Hubbard, faces charges including Evading Arrest (on foot) and Resisting Arrest. It’s always risky to get involved in escapades like this, reminding us that crime doesn’t pay!
Now, if you happened to catch a glimpse of this high-stakes chase or have any information regarding the unidentified driver, the HCSO is asking for your help. You can reach them at 423-622-0022.
Chattanooga residents, what a day to remember! Stay vigilant and safe, and let’s hope the driver is caught soon so we can put this wild story behind us. 🚦
