Mark your calendars, Chattanooga! The enchanting Lighted Boat Parade is making its grand return on November 29th, and this year, it promises to be bigger and brighter than ever before. Last year, over 18,000 people attended the parade, making it a record-breaking event that brought smiles to faces young and old. Let’s dive into what you can expect at this festive gathering!
The festivities will kick off at 4:00 PM on the beautiful Chattanooga Green and at Ross’s Landing. Bring your friends and family along to soak in the warm holiday vibes while enjoying an array of fun activities that cater to everyone in attendance. With so much to see and do, this event is sure to be a favorite for locals and visitors alike!
One of the most exciting highlights of the parade this year is the chance to meet real live reindeer and Santa Claus himself! Yes, that’s right! Families are welcome to snap free pictures with Santa and the adorable reindeer, so don’t forget to bring your cameras. These magical moments are perfect for capturing family memories that will warm your hearts long after the celebrations are over.
After you’ve taken your festive pictures, why not indulge in some delicious treats? There will be food and holiday art vendors selling a variety of goodies, including a cozy hot cocoa bar and beverages for those aged 21 and up. Plus, don’t miss out on the “Touch a Truck” experience featuring the friendly folks from the Chattanooga Fire Department. It’s a great way for kids (and adults) to connect with our community heroes!
In a delightful twist, holiday actors will be roaming around the event. Expect to catch sight of some familiar faces, including the mischievous Grinch and the magical Elsa from Frozen. And let’s not forget the stunning illuminated giant puppets, courtesy of Playful Evolving Monsters, adding an extra dash of whimsy and wonder to the parade!
The highlight of the evening will be the annual Lighted Boat Parade, featuring over 25 boats beautifully adorned with festive lights as they parade from the Olgiati Bridge to the Walnut Street Bridge. It’s a sight to behold! If you fancy being part of the parade, it’s not too late to reach out to Erwin Marine Sales for details on how to join in on the fun.
As the evening comes to a close, anticipate an exciting fireworks show at approximately 8:00 PM, sponsored by the Southern Belle. Launching over the serene Tennessee River, this dazzling display will surely light up the night sky as a spectacular end to an incredible evening.
Plan to bring along some lawn chairs or blankets for your comfort while watching the boat parade and fireworks display! There are multiple parking garages and areas close to Ross’s Landing, making it easy for you to find a spot. Additionally, parking is available across the river at Coolidge Park and Renaissance Park, just a short .9 mile walk across Market Street or Walnut Bridges to reach the festivities.
For ease of transportation, a free CARTA shuttle will also be operating that evening to transport folks from various locations to the main events. It’s the perfect solution for a hassle-free night of holiday cheer!
So come on out, Chattanooga! Join in the joyous celebrations at the 44th Annual Lighted Boat Parade and make some heartwarming memories with family and friends this holiday season!
