Chattanooga Launches “Living Space” Exhibition Celebrating Home and Memory

Chattanooga Welcomes “Living Space” Exhibition

Chattanooga is set to buzz with creativity as the “Living Space” exhibition, curated by the Threshold Collective, opens its doors this Friday, October 4th, from 5-8 PM. This exciting event marks the collective’s third group exhibition and perfectly aligns with Chattanooga’s revitalized First Friday art crawl, inviting art enthusiasts to explore new perspectives on memory and the domestic realm.

A Celebration of Home and Memory

The exhibition showcases the work of six talented artists from various parts of the United States who are part of the Threshold Collective. Each artist brings a unique lens to the concept of home, transforming intimate ideas into captivating visual experiences. The exhibition promises a diverse range of perspectives, with artworks spanning across multiple mediums and interpretations. This creates a rich tapestry of connection for visitors to dive into.

In addition to the primary members of the Threshold Collective, the exhibition also features eleven guest artists who contribute their distinct voices to the collection. This collaboration amplifies the exhibition’s themes, making “Living Space” a powerful exploration of the meaning we attach to our living environments and the memories we create within them.

Join the Opening Reception

Mark your calendars and grab your friends! The opening reception on October 4th is a great opportunity to meet some of the participating artists in person. Several members of the Threshold Collective will be present to discuss their work and share insights into their creative processes. It’s a wonderful chance to engage with the art community and find inspiration in the conversations that unfold. The event is completely free and open to the public, making it accessible to everyone who loves art.

To make the evening even more enjoyable, visitors can sip on complimentary refreshments, including draft beer and wine, courtesy of Wavelength Space. So, whether you’re a seasoned art lover or just looking to enjoy a night out, this exhibition promises to be an inviting and memorable experience.

Exhibition Duration and Details

The “Living Space” exhibition will run from October 4th through November 3rd, giving art enthusiasts ample time to visit. A closing reception is scheduled for Friday, November 1st, from 5-8 PM, also as part of Chattanooga’s First Friday festivities. This means there’s even more opportunity to engage with the art and the artists themselves as the exhibition comes to a close.

If you can’t make it on opening night or the closing reception, don’t worry! The gallery will also be available for private appointments from October 5th to November 3rd. Interested visitors can arrange visits by booking online through wavelengthspace.com or by reaching out via Instagram at @wavelength_space.

Explore the Meaning of Home

As the exhibition approaches, it’s a fantastic opportunity for the Chattanooga community to reflect on what home means to them personally. “Living Space” is more than just an art show; it’s an exploration of the familiar, the intimate, and sometimes the challenging aspects of our environments. Each piece invites viewers to consider their relationships with their spaces and how those spaces shape and reflect their lives.

So, gather your friends, family, and anyone who appreciates creativity, and head over to Wavelength Space this Friday! Who knows? You might walk away with a fresh perspective on the places you call home while enjoying a lovely evening filled with art, conversation, and community.
