Chattanooga Buzzing with Exciting Events This Week

Chattanooga’s Exciting Local Events This Week

Hello Chattanooga! It’s that time of the week again where we dive into all the exciting happenings in our fantastic city and surrounding areas. As the leaves turn and we embrace the beautiful autumn vibes, there’s no shortage of fun events to check out. Let’s get right into it!

Something for Everyone: Library Passes

If you’re a holder of a Chattanooga Public Library card, listen up! How about catching the 2024-25 Chattanooga Symphony & Opera season without spending a dime? Passes are available at all five library locations, allowing you to redeem them for seat tickets to the upcoming concerts at no cost. Isn’t that just a fantastic perk?

Each library is offering one pass per concert, starting two weeks before each performance date, on a first-come, first-served basis. The next musical treat features the captivating Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto on Nov. 7 at Memorial Auditorium. If classical music doesn’t tickle your fancy, don’t worry! The library also has passes for other local attractions and seasonal events, including Chattanooga Mocs football games. Check out more details at the library’s website!

Art Displays Around Town

Art enthusiasts, this week is a visual feast for you. At Area 61 Gallery, located at 721 Broad St., you can enjoy “The Many Faces & Phases of Rick Sanders,” running through Nov. 30. And don’t miss the First Friday reception on Nov. 1 from 6-8 p.m.

Head over to the Arts Center in Athens, TN, where you’ll find “Gospel Quilts II: A Quilt Concert” featuring the vibrant art quilts of Karen Malone and acrylic paintings by Barbara Ensley, on display until Dec. 13. There’s an artist reception scheduled for Nov. 21 from 5-7 p.m. to chat with the creators.

Don’t forget to stop by the Hunter Museum of American Art to explore “City as Canvas: Graffiti Art From the Martin Wong Collection” through Jan. 13, or check out the current works featured at the AVA Gallery and Exum Gallery, both presenting exciting solo exhibitions through early November.

Fall Festivals and Family Fun

As we step into the *fall* spirit, Coolidge Park will be bustling with the Between the Bridges Festival on Oct. 20, showcasing local artisans and live music from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival coincides with the 7 Bridges Marathon, creating a vibrant weekend in the park, perfect for art lovers and fitness fans alike!

Looking to enjoy some autumn flavors? Head over to the Chattanooga Apple Festival at Camp Jordan, featuring over 150 vendors, delicious food trucks, and entertainment on Oct. 20! There’s even a petting zoo to delight the little ones. If you’re up for a drive, check out the Cleveland Apple Festival happening the same day, where you can buy apple goodies and enjoy some live music!

Spooky Season Events

It wouldn’t be October without a little spookiness! Get ready for the Halloween Boo in the Zoo at the Chattanooga Zoo on Oct. 25-26, offering a family-friendly celebration filled with not-so-scary decorations and activities. Try out the Dread Hollow haunted attraction, running through Nov. 1, for a thrill. Meanwhile, for those who enjoy ghostly tales, sign up for walking tours at Fort Hill Cemetery on Oct. 27 to hear spine-chilling stories of the past.

Rock n’ Roll & More

If music is more your vibe, there are several concerts happening this week. Head to The Signal for a lineup featuring Colton Dixon on Oct. 20 and the Dave Matthews Tribute Band on Oct. 22. For those into laughs, the Comedy Catch will host Reno Collier from Oct. 24-26, making for a giggle-worthy weekend.

So whether you’re into art, music, or a little fall fun, Chattanooga has something for everyone this week. Be sure to take advantage of these local happenings and maybe discover something you’ve never tried before. Enjoy your week full of adventure, and let the autumn spirit sweep you off your feet!
