Hey there, Chattanooga! Today, we’re throwing a little party because we’re celebrating a special milestone: our sixth birthday! Can you believe it? For six years now, we’ve been your go-to source for all things happening in our beautiful city. To mark the occasion, we’re taking a stroll down memory lane to revisit some of our readers’ favorite stories over the years. So, grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and let the nostalgia wash over you!
Back to 2018: Naming Cooper’s Alley
Way back in 2018, we kicked off a fun project that captured the hearts of many in Chattanooga: naming Cooper’s Alley. This hidden gem in downtown was on everyone’s lips, and we asked you to help us choose its permanent name. Some of the contenders included The 700, Kress Alley, and Market Alley. In the end, we settled on a name that truly embodies the spirit of our community, and Cooper’s Alley became an official favorite spot for all.
2019: A Stadium to Call Our Own
The excitement continued into 2019 with the announcement of a massive $125 million development slated for East Ridge. Not only were we getting a new stadium for the Chattanooga Red Wolves, but also a mixed-use space that promised to revitalize the area. When CHI Memorial Stadium opened its doors in 2020, it was a proud moment for fans as we celebrated with an exhilarating match against FC Tucson. Spoiler alert: we won!
2020: The Iconic Flying Saucer House
2021: Major Developments in the Works
2022: The Curiosity of “Eric is Dead”
2023: Revamping the Chattanooga Choo Choo
As we celebrate our birthday, we also want to extend a huge thank you to you—our amazing readers! We’re thrilled to have been able to share so many wonderful stories about the scenic city we call home.
