Chattanooga Prepares for Exciting Locals Only Music Festival as Music Scene Flourishes

Chattanooga Gears Up for a Vibrant Music Celebration!

If you’re in Chattanooga, get ready to celebrate the city’s incredible talent! With music events scheduled through October 13, there’s plenty to choose from. In light of the recent cancellation of two major music festivals in town, local venues Five Wits Brewing Company and Barrelhouse Ballroom have taken the initiative to launch the very first Locals Only Music Festival. Set for October 12 and 13, this two-day festival will highlight 16 of the best local bands that Chattanooga has to offer. How cool is that?

A Community Effort

Mike Monen, one of the brainchildren behind the festival, expressed his passion for local music, saying, “Given how Chattanooga lost its two main music festivals this past year, we decided to step up and throw one of our own.” This festival aims to raise awareness of the incredible music talent in Chattanooga, while fostering a supportive environment for these local artists. It’s the perfect chance for folks to come together, enjoy great performances, and celebrate what makes our music scene unique!

Event Lineup

The festival will take place at the Barrelhouse and features an exciting lineup. But before that, there are tons of other events happening. For example, on October 4, whiskey enthusiasts can check out Whiskey Cowgirl featuring The Band Chickamauga at 10 PM. If you’re looking for something more relaxed, stop by Creekside Bar & Grille at 6 PM for a soothing performance by Layne Denton.

As the nights continue, the music keeps rolling with Doc Holliday’s showcasing the Robin Baker Blues Band at 8 PM, and if you’re in the mood for some great bluegrass, The Woodshop has you covered with Forever Bluegrass at 8 PM.

Weekly Highlights

The fun doesn’t stop there! From Buds Sports Bar hosting a thrilling night with Steel Whiskey on October 5, to the lively Farm to Fork having Mad Margritt play at 8:30 PM on the same day, every evening is packed with tunes for every taste. Music lovers can delve into various genres, from country to rock and even some experimental sounds.

Take note of the Three Sisters Bluegrass Festival on October 4-5 at Ross Landing too! This is another fantastic way to soak in the vibrant local culture while enjoying some exquisite bluegrass tunes. And for those who appreciate hip-hop, don’t miss the CHA Hip-Hop Weeks happening at various spots throughout the city from October 6-11.

A Music Lover’s Paradise

The excitement continues through the month! Other notable mentions include the highly anticipated Chattanooga Motorcar Festival from October 11-13. Plus, the evening of October 11 doesn’t just hold an amazing lineup at Barrelhouse but also features Hurricane Helene Fund Relief at The Dragon’s Roast, a fantastic initiative helping the community.

With all these events on the horizon, Chattanooga is definitely the place to be for music lovers. So, gather your friends, support local artists, and let the rhythm of our vibrant music scene carry you away. Don’t forget that the Locals Only Music Festival on October 12-13 is your chance to see the city’s finest talents all in one place. Mark your calendars and get ready to dance and sing along!
