Chattanooga Welcomes Chase Bank: New Branches Opening Soon

Chattanooga’s banking scene is about to get a major update as Chase Bank, the largest bank in America, prepares to open two new branches in the city by the end of this year. This expansion is part of Chase’s strategy to tap into the growing market in the Chattanooga area.

Locations and Features of the New Branches

The new Chase branches will be located at 2120 Gunbarrel Road and 306 Cherokee Boulevard. According to Jennifer DiSalvo, the market director of banking for the region, these locations were chosen because of their high activity and potential for growth. “It is growing very dynamic in those two areas,” DiSalvo stated. “When we find good real estate, we scoop them up.”

The Gunbarrel Road branch will move into a former bank site and will feature three ATMs. On the other hand, the North Shore location on Cherokee Boulevard is currently being developed into a multi-tenant space and will have two ATMs available. Each branch will span approximately 3,500 square feet.

A Vision for Further Expansion

Chase is not stopping at just two branches. In the coming years, DiSalvo suggested that they aim to expand to four branches. They have already looked into the Brainerd area for potential sites, although plans are still not finalized.

Matt McGauley, from FTC Development, shared insights on the North Shore building, emphasizing its importance due to high visibility and operational efficiency. “We know the North Shore is a very dense area,” he remarked. Notably, an \[AFC Urgent Care\] facility is also set to open close to Chase’s new branch, enhancing the area’s appeal as a commercial hub.

Community-Focused Banking

When the branches open, they plan to hire around seven to eight employees each. DiSalvo stressed the importance of local talent, saying, “We hire locally and the best talent we can. We want to get the person you see at church or the grocery store… whose passion is helping people from a financial standpoint.” Each branch will be equipped with a financial advisor and staff specialized in business banking.

Chase aims to create a local banking atmosphere despite being a national chain. DiSalvo noted, “We are a national bank, but we make it feel like a local bank.” Customers will have access to private offices to discuss sensitive issues like investments or home lending.

Modern Banking Technology

Chattanooga already boasts around 30 different banks, but Chase is keen on standing out with advanced technology in their new branches. “We have a lot of technology in the branches,” DiSalvo mentioned, which will aid in providing efficient banking services to customers.

Chase’s National Commitment

Chase has plans to open over 500 branches nationwide and hire around 3,500 employees by 2027, as part of a multibillion-dollar commitment to expand its reach. Marianne Lake, CEO of consumer and community banking at Chase, emphasized their local impact, saying, “We lend to local businesses of all sizes, create jobs and long-term careers, and finance vital amenities that are the cornerstone of healthy neighborhoods.”

With the addition of these new branches, Chattanooga residents can look forward to greater banking options and possibilities in the near future.
