Taking off in a white Honda, Middlebrooks made a quick getaway, but he didn’t count on the tenacity of the victim, who decided to follow him in another vehicle. As the situation escalated, witnesses began to realize that something was amiss.

A Chase and a Shot Fired

Before the police could reach the scene, the chase had already taken a dangerous turn. The victim, understandably flustered after being robbed, continued to follow Middlebrooks. A witness in the victim’s vehicle quickly dialed 911, providing crucial details about Middlebrooks’s car as they sped through the neighborhoods. The chase ultimately led them to the 2100 block of South Lyerly Street.

It was during this hurried escape that Middlebrooks allegedly made a dangerous move—he fired a shot at the victim as he exited his vehicle. Fortunately, the victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening, but he was still taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
