Hey Chattanooga! The countdown to Election Day is on! With just a few days left until you cast your votes, there’s a flurry of activity happening around town to ensure everyone has the support they need. Mark your calendars for November 5 because that’s when the choices about our local future will be made!
This year, you can swing by the Chattanooga Election Day Hub, a fantastic initiative designed to support voters in our community. Organized by a coalition led by Civic TN along with partners like The Tennessee Democracy Network and The Urban League of Chattanooga, this hub is here to help you navigate the voting process.
Located at The Urban League of Chattanooga, this hub isn’t just a place to get information; it’s a full-service center offering nonpartisan support for everyone aiming to make their voices heard. It’s the perfect spot to get your questions answered and ensure you have everything you need to vote!
One of the best things about the hub is the transportation support being offered. If you’re in Hamilton County and need a lift to your polling location, they’ve got you covered—as long as there’s a driver available! No excuses for missing out on your chance to vote!
But that’s not all! Thanks to a collaboration between AARP Tennessee and the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA), there will be free rides available on the day of the election! This includes all city bus routes, as well as the Care-A-Van service that specializes in providing transport for disabled residents. It’s a true community effort to make sure everyone can get to the polls without a hitch!
And for those who prefer rideshare services, you’re in luck! Both Uber and Lyft are stepping up to help voters get to their polling spots. Uber is offering riders a generous 50% off their rides, up to $10! Just look for the ‘Go Vote’ tile when booking. On the other hand, Lyft is jumping in the game too, providing a similar 50% discount with the code VOTE24. Remember, you can preload this code before Election Day and use it between 5 AM and 10 PM in every time zone!
Now, we all know that being informed is key to making the best choices. If you’re looking to learn more about the candidates on the ballot, check out the voter guide created by Chattamatters. It’s a handy tool to help you sort through who’s who and what they stand for. You’ll want to feel confident about your decisions when you step into that voting booth!
As Election Day draws closer, it’s wonderful to see Chattanooga come together as a community to ensure everyone has a chance to participate. Whether you need a ride, assistance with language, or just a little extra info to feel prepared, there are resources available. Let’s make sure every voice is heard loud and clear this November!
So, gather your friends, make a plan, and get ready to cast your vote. After all, every vote counts, and this election is your chance to shape the future of our beloved Chattanooga!
