Maureen Patricia Downey Parr

Maureen Patricia Downey Parr, aged 67, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024. Maureen was not just any nurse; she was an exceptionally dedicated operating room nurse. Over her many years in medicine, she became a familiar and comforting presence to those who needed it most. Those close to her say she always seemed to find joy in the company of others, spreading warmth wherever she went. Her nurturing nature and dedication to her patients were second to none, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

Debra Ann May

In neighboring Soddy Daisy, residents are celebrating the life of Debra Ann May, who passed away at age 70 on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Debra’s journey through life is one many can find inspiration in. She spent many years working at Sears Automotive in Hixson before retiring, where she carved out a reputation for being meticulous and reliable. The community will remember her not just for her hardworking nature, but for the kindness and generosity she showed to those around her. Whether it was through her professional life or personal interactions, Debra’s dedication and warmth left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.

Doyle L. Smith

Also on September 8, 2024, Doyle L. Smith went home to be with Jesus. He was born on June 18, 1938, in Roff, Oklahoma, but spent the majority of his life within the scenic bounds of Tennessee after relocating from California in 1965. His journey through life, while marked with significant changes, remained grounded on a foundation of faith and community. Doyle was known not only for his steadfast beliefs but also for his genuine care for others. Those who knew Doyle recount his ability to connect with people, offering support and comfort in times of need.
