Chattanooga Braces for an Electrifying Night with Mike Farris & The Fortunate Few

The musical city of Chattanooga will reverberate with the soulful music beats of Grammy Award winner Mike Farris and his band, The Fortunate Few, at Riverfront Nights, scheduled for this Saturday, July 27. Coming back to Ross’s Landing for the ninth time this season, Riverfront Nights promises a night of exceptional blues, soul, R&B and gospel music, all masterfully intertwined to create a highly-charged performance.

Farris — From Rock to Soul

Mike Farris, known for his stage charisma and powerful vocal performances, shot to fame as the lead singer of the popular rock group, The Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies. This weekend performance in Chattanooga is expected to bring forth his command over diverse music genres and entertain the attendees with his distinctive style.

A Musical Start to the Evening

The evening festivities will open with an audio treat from Paul McDonald & The Mourning Doves. McDonald is a renowned composer and pianist whose music seamlessly melds the experience and influences of a successful career that spans the globe. Apart from his live performances, he has composed and arranged music for several TV and radio programs and independent films.

A Family-friendly Venue with More Than Just Music

The Riverfront Nights series has provided Chattanooga with fourteen weeks of free music, delicious food from local vendors, and a friendly venue that welcomes families. Also, Wondering Watercolor will be stationed in the Kid’s Area, offering painting activities and workbooks for the younger attendees.

The Weekend is Stacked with Action and Adventure

In addition to the musical affair, Chattanooga riverfront will host the Chattanooga River Games from Friday, July 26, through Sunday, July 28. The River Games will showcase internationally recognized sports like Døds diving, high diving, slacklining, wake surfing, kayaking, rock climbing, and a ramp jam for bike and skateboard enthusiasts. The event will be open to all from 4:00 pm-10:00 pm each day.

What if it Rains?

Mickey McCamish, friends of the Festival spokesperson mentioned, “We’ve been lucky with the weather so far this series, but we are always weather aware. We suggest all attendees come prepared for a rain or shine show and to keep an eye on our social media pages for updates relating to severe weather.” Any weather-related updates will be posted on Riverfront Nights’ Facebook and Instagram pages.
