CHATTANOOGA – The city is grappling with emergency road closures as severe weather sweeps through the area, bringing down trees and power lines, causing significant road hazards. The Chattanooga Division of Transportation has announced multiple closures due to these hazards.
According to a recent news release from Justin Strickland, public space coordinator, local authorities including the CFD and EPB are actively working to restore road and utility services. Strickland mentioned that we should expect intermittent, unannounced closures over the next couple of days in the most affected areas. Public Works crews are also working tirelessly to remove trees and debris from the roads.
