Chattanooga Roadwork Update: Extended Hours for Essential Painting Installations This Weekend

Chattanooga Roadwork Update: Extended Hours for Painting Installations!

Your friendly neighborhood update is here, Chattanooga! As we move into the weekend, get ready for some changes on the roads as contractors on behalf of the city have requested extended working hours to complete essential painting installations. It’s a busy time, and workers are set to be present on Frazier Avenue between Market Street and Barton Avenue through Friday evening and from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday. We know, we know; roadwork can be a nuisance, but hang tight! This beautification project will be worth it.

What You Need to Know

As with any construction project, there will be some temporary restrictions to be aware of. First off, if you’re navigating the streets around Tampa Street, be prepared for a detour. Between Frazier Avenue and River Street, Tampa will be closed on Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.. You’ll need to take a little detour via Tremont during that time.

On Saturday, things will also be a tad different around Tremont Street. Expect individual lane closures but rest assured that two-way travel will be maintained thanks to friendly on-site flaggers from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.. So, if you happen to be on Tremont, just follow the signs and go with the flow!

But that’s not all! Also on Saturday, Frazier Avenue between Tremont Street and Market Street will see some lane shifts. However, you guessed it—there will still be two-way travel available! Just remember that street parking and access to bike lanes may be restricted in the work zones during these times to accommodate the lane shifts. So, consider your options wisely!

Map Out Your Weekend

If you’d like visual aids, the Chattanooga Department of Transportation (CDOT) has got you covered! They have a map available showing detailed events and road closures related to this work and other ongoing projects in our vibrant public spaces. It’s a great resource to check out before hitting the road this weekend. After all, nobody wants to find themselves stuck in traffic unintentionally!

City Council Agenda

  1. Call to Order by Chairman Henderson.
  2. Pledge of Allegiance/Invocation led by Councilwoman Noel.
  3. Special Presentations.

And don’t forget, there will also be closures on Crabtree Road happening on Monday and Tuesday. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the road will be closed between Hale Road and Dee Lane for a storm pipe replacement. So, plan your travels ahead if that’s part of your regular route this coming week!

Stay Informed!

As always, stay tuned for more updates from your city to make sure you’re in the loop. Whether you’re rerouting your drives or planning your errands, a little advance knowledge goes a long way. Safe travels this weekend, Chattanooga!
