Woman Shoots Ex-Boyfriend During Argument in Chattanooga, Police Say

Incident Unfolded Late Wednesday Night on North Hickory Street

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.

An intense argument took a violent turn when a 61-year-old woman allegedly shot her ex-boyfriend on the night of Wednesday. The shooting incident unfolded around midnight on the 400 block of North Hickory Street, in the suburban Orchard Knob area of Chattanooga.

Victim Reaches Hospital With Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

The victim, a 62-year-old man, miraculously survived the gunshot and was able to drive himself to a nearby hospital. Chattanooga Police, in a press release, confirmed that his injuries were non-life-threatening. The man informed the hospital staff that he had been shot by his former partner during a heated argument.

Suspect Tracked Down At Scene

The Chattanooga Police, acting on the information provided by the victim, managed to track down the alleged shooter at the residence where the incident took place. The suspect has been identified as Sandra Sharp.

According to police, Sharp didn’t flee the crime scene and was found right where the argument ended with the gunfire. Post the arrest, she faces charges of aggravated assault (domestic violence).
