Songbirds To Host Songwriter Night Featuring Top Chattanooga Artists

Chattanooga, – The Songbirds Foundation is all set to strengthen community bonds by initiating “The Song Circle,” a thrilling night of live music exhibiting top Chattanooga songwriters who will share their original songs and stories. The inaugural function is scheduled for Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m., featuring artists such as Randy Steele and Josh Wheeler, with host Richard Daigle on board.

Enthralling Lineup of Artists

According to Songbirds Executive Director Reed Caldwell, “Following the fantastic local and regional songwriters we encountered at last month’s Tennessee Songwriters Competition, The Song Circle will enable us to build on that momentum. It offers a platform for songwriters to showcase their talents to a local audience in a high-quality listening room environment. We’re very excited about this event and urge all music lovers to participate.”

The event’s lineup boasts remarkable artists including Randy Steele, an award-winning guitarist and banjo picker known for both his solo performances and his collaboration with Randy Steele and High Cold Wind. An Independent Music Award holder for Bluegrass song of the year, Steele’s name has been listed as a semi-finalist in the esteemed American Songwriter song of the year contest and a finalist in the New Song LEAF Songwriting Competition in North Carolina and the Kerrville Folk Festival competition in Texas.

Another featured artist, Josh Wheeler from Birmingham, AL, is an entertaining figure known for his eccentric, humorous songwriting and captivating, lively stage presence. Wheeler, who works as a local chiropractor, has released two albums and frequently performs in Chattanooga and surrounding regions.

Interactive Performances to Capture the Audience

The host, Richard Daigle, a retired writer/editor and New Orleans-born singer/songwriter, launched his first album in 2020. His performances extend from Chattanooga to Atlanta and Nashville, and he has been a Chattanooga finalist in the TN Songwriter Week competition twice. When speaking about the upcoming Song Circle, Daigle highlighted, “Audience interaction will play a significant role. The artists will not only present their songs but also share their sources of inspiration, expose their writing process, and answer questions on the meanings behind their songs.”

Tickets for the show are priced at $10 and can be pre-purchased. (Ticket purchasing details have been excluded as per the instruction provided).

Empowering Local Talent and Uniting Community

The Songbirds Foundation, through initiatives like The Song Circle, has continuously worked towards empowering local artists. This strong backbone for Chattanooga songwriters aids in nurturing raw talent by giving them the required exposure and audience. Whilst cultivating the local art scene, The Song Circle also supports the sketching of a stronger and more connected community canvas. In times where unity is fundamental, such initiatives by Songbirds Foundation become even more significant.

The Singer-Songwriter Night not only showcases the rich talent from Chattanooga but also gives the community a chance to engage and connect with each other and the artists at a profound level. The supportive environment promises a magical experience where songwriters can express their stories and the audience can closely experience these narratives through music.

HERE News Network encourages all music enthusiasts to come, enjoy, and support local talent at the forthcoming event and celebrate the power of music and community combined.
