Chattanooga – The Hunter Museum of American Art, downtown Chattanooga’s prestigious venue hosted the wedding of Lindsey and Joel Williams on October 14, 2023. The couple who initially met in the Empire State Building in New York, chose to celebrate their momentous day in their root city.
Having a dedicated preference to showcase Chattanooga’s charm, the couple immediately zeroed in on The Hunter Museum of American Art. “We absolutely fell in love with the views from the roof and didn’t look at another venue after viewing the Hunter,” admits Lindsey. They held a peaceful evening ceremony on the 24-hour terrace. The Hunter Museum provided complete bar and beverage services including a champagne seating chart and unique cocktails chosen by the couple.
A lively band kept the guests engaged with music while a sumptuous dinner followed by their favourite fast-food snacks satiated their appetite. A black and white checkered dance floor added a classic touch to the rooftop reception. The décor featuring black and white elements blended perfectly with the soothing garden theme. It included an eye-grabbing floral installation above the bar and enchanting circular chandeliers illuminating the dance floor.
A burst of blue, purple, and rose tones gave life to the event space creating an authentic romantic atmosphere.
The crowd surfing on the dance floor and a memorable private last dance remain particularly special memories for the newlyweds. The couple made a sparkling exit through the Holmberg bridge, held high by their guests. Recollecting the exhilarating ambiance that night, Lindsey commented, “I had two party dresses to change into, but I was having so much fun with everyone I never left the dance floor to change. It was the best night ever!”
While walking their Dalmatian during ‘off-leash hours’ in Central Park, Joel got down on one knee and presented the ring asking her to marry him. Friends from Chattanooga were secretly present capturing every moment. The engagement day was celebrated further with a surprise party at the couple’s favourite bar in New York City.
Elevated over the Tennessee River, the Hunter Museum of American Art provided the newlyweds a grand vista embellished with panoramic views and memorable ambiance. The museum bestowed an exceptional combination of hospitality, beauty as well the convenience for out-of-town guests. From its splendid views to its versatile event spaces, it certainly proved to be a fitting venue for such a grand occasion.
