CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Buckle up, Chattanooga! The race for the District 4 City Council seat is heating up as longtime East Brainerd resident and local businessman Cody Harvey has officially thrown his hat in the ring for the upcoming March 2025 election. With current Councilman Darrin Ledford announcing he won’t be seeking reelection, it opens the door for new leadership in our beautiful city, and Harvey is ready to step up to the plate.

Meet Cody Harvey

Cody isn’t just a name; he’s a familiar face in the community. A proud graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Cody didn’t stop there. He pursued a master’s degree from Southern Adventist University, making him well-educated and equipped to tackle the challenges that come with serving on the City Council. Recently, he was a partner at Avail Senior Living, which speaks volumes about his commitment to the community and understanding of its needs.

A Heart for Community Service

Cody’s heart beats for East Brainerd and the greater Chattanooga area. He has devoted his time and energy to several local organizations, showcasing his dedication to improving the lives of his neighbors. As President of the East Brainerd Kiwanis Club, he helped initiate programs that really made a difference. On top of that, he served as Vice President of the Hamilton County Pachyderm Club and remains an active member of the Rotary Club of Chattanooga.

Not just involved in clubs, you might spot Cody volunteering at events, committed to ensuring our community thrives. He shares his life with his wife, Chelsea Harvey, and they are regular attendees at Silverdale Baptist Church, which reflects their values and commitment to serving others.

When asked about his candidacy, Cody couldn’t hide his enthusiasm. He stated, “I’m thrilled to receive the news I am qualified to run for this honorable office in March. I pledge to outwork any and all in this bid to serve as your next councilman. It would be an honor to have your support in District 4, and I plan to earn it. I humbly ask you to elect me on March 4 as your next City Councilman.”
