Throughout her life, she spent the majority of her time in this vibrant city, often lighting up the lives of those around her with her incredible warmth. There were also many years she called Slidell, Louisiana, home. However, regardless of where she lived, her heart always seemed to be in the place where she formed countless bonds.

A Heart of Gold

Friends and family frequently remembered Angie for her kind nature and the generosity she extended to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen and heard, often offering support and love in times of need. It’s no wonder that many consider her to have a heart of gold. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her often reflect on the lasting impressions she left on their lives.

An Outpouring of Love

Angie was a beloved daughter, sister, and mother. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Long, her father, Andrew Long, and her brother Bo Long. She also sadly lost her nephew, K.J. Long, and both sets of grandparents, including Zella and Martin Carter and Birdie Mae and James Jackson. The family is also mourning the loss of several aunts and uncles who have passed on, including Linda Hughes, Bertha Turkin, David Carter, Harry Long, Lenard Jackson, and Michael Casborn.

However, Angie is survived by her loving son, Gabe (Snookie) Cryer, and her surviving sister, Jenny Long. She will also be remembered fondly by her special cousin, Buffy Hughes, as well as her god-daughter, Candice Cryer. In addition to her immediate family, Angie leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, who are all grappling with the void her passing has created in their lives.

Gratitude for Care and Support

In this difficult time, Angie’s family expressed their deepest gratitude to Hearth Hospice and her special friend and caregiver, Sarah Brown, for the exceptional care provided during her final days. Their compassion ensured Angie experienced the dignity and comfort she so richly deserved.
