East Ridge Police Report: A Look Back at Recent Incidents
Welcome to East Ridge! As we dive into the happenings around our community, it’s important to stay informed about both the vibrant life and challenges we face. The East Ridge Police Department provided a detailed report of various incidents that occurred over the weekend, and here’s a friendly summary so you can stay in the know.
Day Shift Highlights – November 1
On November 1, officers responded to a domestic assault on the 1000 block of McBrien Road. In this unfortunate situation, a man supposedly let his temper get the best of him while following his ex-girlfriend. It seems a road rage incident escalated when he banged on her driver’s side window, leaving her frightened for her safety. Luckily, law enforcement was quick to arrest him for Domestic Assault.
Later that day, at around 4 PM on Castleberry Avenue, police were called regarding harassment. The incident turned out to involve mixed-up reports stemming from Chattanooga, leading officers to transfer the case over to their counterparts there.
Evening Explorations – November 1
Night fell, and shortly after, police were alerted to suspicious activity on Ringgold Road. Officers discovered a juvenile and an adult female attempting to leap over a fence at a storage facility. A consent search revealed drugs, leading to the woman’s arrest for possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. The juvenile was kindly given a ride home – always a good reminder that young folks can find themselves in tricky situations.
Further along the night shift, an assault was reported on Anderson Avenue. Police found a woman with a noticeable laceration on her forehead. While she described being “beat up,” she understandably chose to remain tight-lipped about her assailant. Police are doing their due diligence to follow up and gather more information.
Day Shift – November 2
The following day, a traffic stop on Ringgold Road led to the arrest of a man with an active fugitive warrant. But that’s not all – a search yielded suspected meth in his pocket! Policing today has its challenges, but our officers remain focused and alert.
In another incident, police were called to investigate a phone theft. They quickly tracked down a suspect who was trying to hide his identity with a fake name. Turns out, he had an active warrant and was charged with criminal impersonation. It’s crucial to remember that honesty is always the best policy!
Continuing the Year with Awareness – November 3
As the weekend progressed, police responded to some drunken antics and car accidents. A significant incident on Saint Thomas Street involved a driver who crashed into a power pole and fled but was later found in a business alongside his two small children. This individual was charged with DUI and reckless endangerment, reminding us all of the importance of safety, especially when children are involved.
