Chattanooga is bustling with exciting seasonal activities this weekend! Whether you’re in the mood for some spooky Halloween fun, enjoying autumn colors at local festivals, or diving into comic book culture, there’s plenty happening around town. So grab your friends or family, and let’s dive into the festivities!

Art and Culture

First, make sure to check out the Photographic Society of Chattanooga, which continues its annual autumn show at the Gallery at Blackwell. Here, talented members are showcasing their stunning photographs, which are up for grabs. Open Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., this exhibition will be running until December 6. You can learn more at their website.

Over in Hixson, the North River Civic Center is hosting “Spices of Fall,” a beautiful exhibition that captures the colors and textures of our local and global nature trails. Come by Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or stop by on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. This show will be available until December 30.

Film and Music

For those who crave a little nostalgia, the Red Bank community movie night invites you to bring your family to enjoy “Hocus Pocus”. It kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. at the Joseph Glasscock Community Center. Admission is free, but make sure to register early as seats are limited!

Music lovers can swing by Songbirds this weekend for an open mic night or catch a fantastic performance by George Porter Jr. and Runnin’ Pardners on Sunday evening. For a more electrifying experience, head over to The Signal, where performances by Nate Smith and Jesse McCartney are sure to rock your weekend.

Community and Festivities

On the community front, the Chattanooga Comic Con promises a thrilling weekend with cosplay contests, panels, and celebrity guests. Happening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., this event is perfect for pop culture fans of all ages. A one-day ticket is just $20, and kids under 12 can join in for free!

If whiskey is your drink of choice, the Tennessee Whiskey Festival invites you for an afternoon of tasting the finest local spirits. Join in the fun Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chattanooga Choo Choo gardens. Tickets range from $20 to $125, depending on your tasting preference.

Halloween Fun

This weekend, it’s all about spook-tacular fun! The North River Fall Festival at the YMCA is happening Friday night, promising carnival games, food trucks, and a costume contest. Plus, check out the free trunk-or-treat at the Hixson Community Center if you’re looking for a safe and fun way for the kids to gather treats.

And for more chills and thrills, there’s no shortage of haunted attractions, including Dread Hollow’s “Vengeance” and the much-loved Boo in the Zoo. Make your way to these spine-tingling events for a frightfully good time!

Final Events and Wrap Up

Wrap up your weekend with some exciting live performances, including “Moulin Rouge” at Memorial Auditorium and the concluding performances of “Macbeth” by Scenic City Shakespeare at Greenway Farm Park.
