Kick Off with a Foam Dance Party

The festivities will kick off on Friday evening at 6 p.m. with ChattSkates. Participants can choose to bike, skateboard, or rollerskate right into the Tennessee River, all while enjoying a vibrant foam dance party. Enjoy the upbeat music and let loose!

Paddle Your Way into Fun

Another exciting activity happening on Friday is the Black Women Paddle event, which celebrates the H2O Life’s Women on the Water program. Starting at 6 p.m. from Ross’s Landing, participants aged 18 and over will have the chance to paddle along the river with limited equipment available for registration. It’s a fantastic way to connect with nature and fellow paddlers.

Movie Night Under the Stars

And as dusk falls on Friday, grab your popcorn for the Lookout Wild Films, where short films will be screened under the stars at 9 p.m. It’s the perfect way to wind down after a day of action-packed fun!

Costumed Paddle Parade and Ongoing Activities

On Saturday morning, kick off your day with a Paddle Parade at 10 a.m., where participants will paddle down the Tennessee River in costume and compete for the best-decorated watercraft. The parade will cover 5.4 miles, so it’s time to get creative!

Throughout Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m., families can enjoy ongoing activities including a giant foam slide, a bike rodeo, a climbing wall, and even live animal demonstrations. It’s a smorgasbord of excitement!

Wind Down with Riverfront Nights

As the sun sets, the fun doesn’t stop. Saturday evening will feature Riverfront Nights with live music. More activities will be happening at the River Market at the Tennessee Aquarium, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., making it a full day of enjoyment.

IRONMAN Competition: September 29, 2024

2024 First Horizon Bank IRONMAN Chattanooga, a remarkable endurance event celebrating ten years of racing in this scenic city. Over 2,100 registered athletes will dive into a 2.4-mile swim in the Tennessee River, followed by a grueling 112-mile bike ride on a challenging course and capped off with a 26.2-mile run through downtown.

Marking a Decade of Endurance

Athletes can expect a rigorous bike course with dedicated lanes and a hefty 4,300 feet of elevation gain—definitely not for the faint of heart! Meanwhile, road closures will be in effect to ensure the safety of every participant.

To celebrate this decade milestone, competitors will receive a special commemorative medal designed by local artist Isaac Duncan III.
