As I prepare to celebrate my 26th birthday on Halloween, I’ve gotten a bit sentimental about all the wonderful experiences and places right here in our lovely Chattanooga. So, whether you’re a local or a visitor, let’s dive into my personal countdown of 26 favorite things to do and explore in this vibrant city. Each of these recommendations has a special place in my heart, so let me share them with you!

1. Joli Jardin Flower Shop

If you’re on the hunt for a floral treat, Joli Jardin is a must-visit! This charming European-style flower market lets you build your own bouquet. They often have stunning dahlias that I can’t resist!

2. Peaches from Dickey Farms

Nothing says summer quite like the fresh peaches from Dickey Farms. Find their stand at the Chattanooga Market, and prepare for a sweet delight – they have my favorite Georgia peaches!

3. Shady’s Corner

On weekends, you might spot me at Shady’s Corner, enjoying an ice-cold Guinness while watching Premier League matches. It’s the perfect spot to kick back and enjoy good football (or soccer, if you prefer!).

4. Easy Bistro & Bar

Join me for oyster hour at Easy Bistro & Bar! Every day from 4 to 5 p.m., you can snag buy-one-get-one oysters from their rotating selection. It’s a casual yet classy way to splurge!

5. Staycations at Timberroot Rustic Retreats

Sometimes, a change of scenery does wonders. I recently enjoyed a quick getaway in one of Timberroot Rustic Retreats’ cozy cabins nestled in the Wauhatchie Woodlands. Perfect for hitting reset!

6. Annual 127 Yard Sale

In August, don’t miss the 127 Yard Sale that sprawls through Signal Mountain. It’s the world’s longest yard sale, featuring hundreds of vendors to browse. You might just find your next treasure!

7. Butterfly Sanctuary at the Tennessee Aquarium

This gem in the Ocean Journey building has enchanted me since before I lived in Chattanooga. The butterfly sanctuary is peaceful and beautiful – a must-visit for nature lovers.

This treasure trove in Red Bank is where I found so much of my apartment decor. Dirty Jane’s is filled with unique antiques just waiting for the right home.

12. Niedlov’s Bakery & Café

If you haven’t had a slice from Niedlov’s, you are missing out! Their pizza night serves up some of the best slices in town, and the crust is to-die-for!

13. Live Music Shows

Chattanooga’s music scene is thriving, with amazing acts at venues like The Signal and Barrelhouse Ballroom. There’s always something good happening, so don’t miss out!

14. Wilderness Outdoor Theater

When the weather is warm, catch a flick at the Wilderness Outdoor Theater. With two screens to choose from, it’s a fun outing at a great price!

Pizza and wine go hand-in-hand, but add in some stunning views at Lookout Winery, and you’ve got a triple threat! Pro tip: Arrive early for a sunset spot.

Caffeine lovers, you know how much I appreciate local coffee shops. I’m particularly fond of the shaken-iced lattes at Velo Coffee Roasters.

You must order the Caesar salad at Alleia. The white truffle oil elevates it to a whole new level!

24. Herbal Tea at Asheville Dispensary

For something soothing, check out the Relax Gently herbal tea at Asheville Dispensary, which contains chamomile, lavender, and more. So relaxing!

25. Red Pandas at the Chattanooga Zoo

The red pandas at the Chattanooga Zoo, especially our friend Pilatus, have stolen my heart! They’re adorable and fascinating to watch.

Last but not least, MAINx24 is a fabulous annual celebration that brings the Southside to life. Experience a full day of activities, and trust me, you won’t want to miss this!
