Parkridge Medical Center, one of the first hospitals developed by the Hospital Corporation of America, broke ground in downtown Chattanooga in 1969. Parkridge Medical Center first opened its doors in 1971, funded solely by private investors and at no cost to local taxpayers.

Parkridge has expanded both its campus and its services throughout the years to keep up with the changing demands of citizens throughout the tri-state region. Parkridge is today known for its cutting-edge technology, high-quality care, and commitment to patient satisfaction.

Parkridge offers a broad range of cardiac, orthopedic, and emergency care alternatives, built on a strong foundation of medical and surgical services. SCCC was the area’s first cancer center to have an Oncology Nurse Navigator who oversees each patient’s care from diagnosis to recovery.

It’s nothing new for us to be invested in healthcare technology and practices that are cutting-edge. Many medical firsts have occurred at Parkridge Medical Center for the communities it serves. Parkridge was the first hospital in the state to have a permanent magnetic resonance imager (MRI). An automated implantable cardioverter defibrillator was implanted in the first patient in the Parkridge area. Parkridge was the first hospital in the area to offer a full-service GI lab, mobile MRI, and cancer therapy with linear accelerator technology.
