Matthew Perry’s stepfather, Keith Morrison, expresses optimism about ‘justice taking its course’ after arrests connected to the actor’s death. His candid expression came after new developments were reported about Perry’s demise, who was found dead in his hot tub at his Los Angeles home.
Morrison and his family conveyed their melancholic feelings over the loss of their beloved Matthew, whose life tragically ended on Oct. 28, 2023. Through a carefully drafted message, they said, “We were and still are heartbroken by Matthew’s death, but it has helped to know law enforcement has taken his case very seriously.”
The family also voiced their longing for justice, as they added, “We look forward to justice taking its course and we’re grateful for the exceptional work of the multiple agencies whose agents investigated Matthew’s death. We’re hoping unscrupulous suppliers of dangerous drugs will get the message.”
Perry’s death was attributed to acute effects of ketamine. The report also cited “coronary artery disease, buprenorphrine effects,” and a quantity of “prescription medications and loose pills” were found at his residence as conditions contributing to his death. Following these findings and investigations, five people, including two doctors, were arrested and charged with multiple counts. The light of justice is flickering after these arrests.
The individuals arrested were identified as Jasveen Sangha, Salvador Plasencia, Eric Fleming, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Mark Chavez. They face multiple charges, including conspiracy to distribute ketamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and maintaining a drug-involved premises. This arrest and revelation of the charges brought some solace to the grieving family and the actor’s myriad fans worldwide.
Prior to his untimely passing, Perry, widely known for his role on the hit series ‘Friends’, grappled with his addiction. His stepfather, Keith Morrison, disclosed in an earlier discussion that, “He felt like he was beating it. But you never beat it, and he knew that too.”
He further revealed that Perry had moments of happiness before his death, but he stated that, “He was happy, and he said so. And he hadn’t said that for a long time.” Morrison also expressed his grief that Perry didn’t live to enjoy his third act and concluded, “It’s not fair.”
As investigations continue, the family, along with Perry’s fan base, watch keenly in anticipation of closure and justice.
