Chattanooga – Larry Eugene Russell

Larry Eugene Russell, a prolific salesman and SOS Ministry’s founder, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Chattanooga at the age of 83, on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

Russell’s illustrious Sales Career

Larry, born in Chattanooga, was a notable community figure recognized for his prosperous career in sales that spanned several decades. He held a lifelong tenure at WTS Media, from where he retired after rendering 35 years of commendable service. During his time at the company, he was acclaimed salesman of the year on multiple occasions.

His successful streak in sales was evident even before his tenure at WTS Media, when he served Capitol Toyota and, with his influential sales prowess, won the salesman of the year award several times. Apart from these endeavors, Mr. Russell was also an integral partner at Alder-Finkle-Russell & Swingle Insurance Agency early in his career.

Beyond Sales

However, Russell’s life extended beyond his renowned career in sales. He was an accomplished bowler, a committed golfer, an ardent fan of Tennessee Vols and Atlanta Braves- testimony to his diverse interests. Further reflecting his versatile personality was his niche for singing and songwriting. Russell impressed one and all with his recent production of a CD, with the proceeds channelized to benefit the SOS Ministry, a spiritual initiative founded by him.

SOS Ministry and Calvary Independent Baptist Church

Serving the Calvary Independent Baptist Church for 49 years, Russell was a cherished member. He will be remembered not just for his profound spiritual commitment but also for his philanthropic deeds through the SOS Ministry.
