McKay’s Celebrates Milestone 50th Anniversary by Hosting the Ultimate Road Trip
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.
The much-loved used bookstore and record store, McKay’s, has kicked off the celebration of its 50th anniversary by organizing the Ultimate McKay’s Road Trip. Renowned for its wide collection of used books, films, games, and music, McKay’s was originally established in 1974 in North Carolina.
McKay’s Passport to Adventure
On Tuesday, July 9, all of McKay’s retail stores began distributing the McKay’s Passport. A unique feature of this event, the passports will be stamped at the different locations the bearer visits. Moreover, each stamp will earn the participant a special prize. Those devoted enthusiasts who are dedicated enough to journey to all five stores will receive the grand prize of $800 in McKay’s credit.
The Ultimate McKay’s Road Trip is a one-day extravaganza, stretching from 8 a.m till midnight, local time. However, those who are unable to complete their journey within this time can still hoist their road trip flags.
Extending the Celebration
Overriding the common norms of standard one-day events, McKay’s has announced that they will continue stamping the passports till the end of the year. Customers who manage to gather all five unique stamps by December 31, 2024, will receive an exclusive prize pack. This will include a McKay’s shirt and $50 worth of McKay’s trade credit.
McKay’s has locations scattered across Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Nashville in Tennessee and in Winston-Salem and Mebane, North Carolina. The local store in Chattanooga is situated at 7734 Lee Highway.

The enthusiasm for the event was enormous, with large queues of customers visible outside the Chattanooga McKay’s location at around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The prize structure for the event has been outlined as follows:
