A Cozy Gathering Place

The festivities are set to unfold on the 700 block of 11th Street, conveniently located near the Chatt Foundation and the Homeless Health Center. The atmosphere will be filled with the spirit of giving, as local nonprofits, churches, and community partners join forces to provide essential items and services, ensuring that no one feels left out of the holiday cheer!

Warm Clothing and Hygiene Essentials

What can attendees expect at this community-driven event? Plenty! Each collaborating organization will have a dedicated table stocked with vital supplies such as warm clothing, hygiene products, and even treats for our furry friends. From gloves and hats to hygiene kits and backpacks, every bit of assistance counts when facing the winter season.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

To sprinkle extra holiday joy on this occasion, there will be a Christmas parade featuring none other than Santa and Mrs. Claus! Families and kids are invited to join in the fun, where they can enjoy holiday treats, receive toys, and groove to festive music that will surely bring smiles all around. It’s a splendid opportunity for everyone to come together and be a part of something bigger.

Getting Involved

Local nonprofits and churches that wish to join in the festive spirit still have time! The cut-off to confirm participation is December 1. Interested parties can reach out to Mike Rice at 423.509.7571 or email pawpawshomelessministry@gmail.com. It’s a great way to collectively add warmth, support, and visibility to those who may be struggling this season.

Donation Drives are Essential

For those who want to contribute more, PawPaw’s Ministry has specified much-needed items for donation. These include winter clothing such as gloves, hats, and scarves, along with hygiene kits, feminine hygiene products, backpacks, umbrellas, flashlights, bottled water, and even dog food for our four-legged companions. Your generosity can spread warmth and care during this cold season!

You can drop off your donations at St. Elmo United Methodist Church before the event or bring them directly to the event location between noon and 4 PM on December 15. Every contribution, big or small, has the potential to light up someone’s day!

A Community that Cares

PawPaw’s Homeless Ministry, founded by Mike Rice in 2019, has been tirelessly working year-round to uplift the homeless population of Chattanooga through outreach and resource programs. The underlying philosophy is simple: “everybody wants to be seen.” This event perfectly encapsulates that spirit, providing much-needed visibility and support.

So, as you prepare to deck the halls this holiday season, remember to keep the spirit of giving alive by participating in the “Miracle on 11th Street.” Bring your family and children along, for both adults and children will receive care and support during this heartfelt gathering.
