East Ridge, Tenn. – An exciting event is on the horizon for the residents and animal lovers of East Ridge! On Thursday, September 26th, the city is gearing up for the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the brand-new Animal Shelter. The wait is over as construction has wrapped up on this state-of-the-art facility, and city officials can’t wait to share it with everyone.
The festivities kick off at 10 AM sharp and promises to be a joyful occasion filled with smiles, wagging tails, and tasty treats. Mayor Brian Williams couldn’t hold back his enthusiasm, stating, “We are so excited for the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of our new Animal Shelter. The new facility is designed with the comfort and well-being of our animals as a top priority.” And it’s clear that there’s a reason to celebrate!
This new Animal Shelter is not just any ordinary facility; it spans an impressive 4,850 square feet and boasts an array of amenities specifically catered to the furry residents. The new building includes 30 spacious dog kennels, each equipped with outside runs and drains to make cleanup a breeze. Additionally, every kennel features a nifty self-watering system, ensuring that our four-legged friends stay hydrated without any hassle.
Moreover, the walls and floors of the shelter have been given special polymer coatings that can handle intense pressure washing. This means cleanliness is a top priority and will be easily maintained! If that’s not enough, pets will have access to large play yards where they can run and jump to their hearts’ content.
As part of this new chapter for the Animal Shelter, East Ridge Police Chief Clint Uselton emphasized the importance of community involvement. He shared that there will be exciting volunteer positions available for those passionate about animals. Volunteers will have the chance to walk the dogs, engage with the shelter staff, and provide valuable assistance in caring for the animals. Uselton mentioned, “We’re really stressing opening volunteer positions for the people that want to come out and help…It would assist our staff and our animals here for it to grow more volunteer base.”
The vision for this Animal Shelter goes beyond just providing a roof over the pets’ heads; it aims to create a warm and welcoming environment where every furry friend can thrive while waiting for their forever home. The shelter is conveniently located at 5302 Stone Street in East Ridge, making it accessible for everyone in the community.
As the big day approaches, there’s plenty of excitement in the air. Residents are encouraged to join the celebration and enjoy some light refreshments while exploring the new facility. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow animal lovers and learn about the great services the Animal Shelter will offer.
Mark your calendars and set your alarms! This is not just an opening; it’s a heartfelt celebration of community and compassion towards our beloved pets. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces, all gathering to support and champion our furry friends in need.
