Chattanooga- The Chattanooga Market is giving locals and tourists alike reasons to block out their calendars this Sunday, July 7th. The market is set to host the annual Peach Festival, an event that promises a burst of summer-infused flavor, artistry, and community bonding. From homegrown, farm fresh peaches to peach integrated offerings from the local food artisans, this festival has got every peach lover’s cravings covered.
Preparations are in high gear as Hazelrig Peach Orchard, Georgia Peach Truck and Melon Patch Farms, some of the major local farms, look forward to serving up a platter of just-picked, sumptuously ripe peaches. An expansive backdrop of nearly 200 local artisans will unpack their creativity to present a range of peach-inspired goods, arts, and crafts. This, in turn, guarantees an event with wholesome appeal, besides an all-peach cornucopia of offerings.
The festival’s timing couldn’t be more coherent, as the prime season for produce escalates at the Chattanooga Market. July favorites ranging from okra, blackberries, tomatoes, blueberries, and squashes to beautiful fresh-cut flowers continue to delight patrons all month.
In addition to the array of peach treats and handcrafted items, the guests can expect an enticing palette of Peach-infused foods curated by nearly two dozen local food trucks that are participating in the event. Embracing the theme of the festival, these food trucks promise an intricate blend of traditional foods with a playful twist of peaches.
No celebration would be complete without the stirring strains of live music. On the Lodge Cast Iron Sizzle Stage, audiences can expect cheery performances by musicians Brad Freeney at 12:30pm, followed by Nicholas Edwards Williams at 2:00pm.
Alongside the Peach Festival, the Chattanooga River Market will continue to operate on the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza. Open every Saturday from 10am to 5pm, this market offers a wide range of local art pieces, artisanal foods, and soulful live music.
Bolstering the wellness ethos, free yoga sessions are hosted every Saturday at 10am. The upcoming session on July 7th will also feature a musical performance by Maria Jordania from Noon-3pm, adding a relaxing dimension to the consumer experience.
The Peach Festival is but the start of a splendid lineup of summer events coming up at the Chattanooga Market. More themed events are slated for the following Sundays with Top Tomato on July 14, FiveStar Food Fight on July 21, and Chattanooga Bluegrass on July 28.
All in all, it’s a bright summer of wholesome fun, local flavor and unforgettable experiences at the Chattanooga Market, beginning with the highly anticipated Peach Festival.
