Quiet City Pop-Up Concert Series Kicks Off in Chattanooga
Chattanooga is welcoming a fresh wave of musical experiences with the launch of the Quiet City Pop-Up Concert Series. This new initiative aims to provide a unique platform for local artists who often don’t fit into the louder bar scene. Instead of noisy bars, these concerts will take place in various unexpected, intimate venues across the city.
Event organizer Cody Ray explained, “Having a quiet place to perform is important for the audience but also for the artist. It’s difficult for a musician to concentrate and deliver their best performance when they have to try and ignore ringing cell phones and people talking.” The Quiet City series is designed to offer these quieter, more focused environments.
The series is set to kick off on *September 5th* with a unique concert at the Vagabond Barber Company. This retro barber shop doubles as a nostalgic homage to various eras, adding to the charm and unique setting for the event. It’s located at 2602 East Main Street, right next to Sleepyhead Coffee.
Headlining the first performance is Randy Steele, a local favorite known for his bluegrass tunes and firefighter prowess. Steele has been leaning into his songwriting talents, performing more solo shows that focus on his lyricism and storytelling.
Joining Steele in the lineup is Tigris Nevans. Known for her soulful voice and songs that draw from nature and local history, Nevans regularly charms crowds aboard the Southern Belle riverboat.
The night will also see a performance by Joshua Cruce, a relative newcomer to the Chattanooga music scene. Cruce is rapidly gaining attention with his thought-provoking songs, which often explore intriguing themes like quantum mechanics.
The event will take place from 8-10pm, and there is a $10 cover charge to attend. The organizers hope that this new series will be a hit among music enthusiasts who appreciate a more personal, immersive concert experience.
The Quiet City Pop-Up Concert Series addresses a notable gap in the local music scene, providing an avenue for artists in quieter genres to truly shine. It’s a welcomed addition that promises to highlight the incredible musical talent that resides in Chattanooga.
Mark your calendars and experience a different side of Chattanooga’s music scene with the Quiet City Pop-Up Concert Series. This new event series offers an opportunity to enjoy live music in a setting where the artist’s stories and melodies can truly come to life.
