River City Ribbon Run 5K Registration Now Open For April Race

Chattanooga ready for the annual River City Ribbon Run

The much-anticipated annual River City Ribbon Run 5K has officially opened its registration for the upcoming race in April. Serving as a platform to connect diverse cancer communities, the event is set to take place on Saturday, 13th April on the Chattanooga State campus.

Organized by the CHI Memorial Foundation, the 5K race is aimed at bringing all cancer patients, family members, and survivors together in a united effort to raise funds for local cancer treatments and services.

Direct Impact for Local Patients

All funds raised from the River City Ribbon Run will stay within the local community, directly supporting the patients of the CHI Memorial’s Rees Skillern Cancer Institute. The proceeds from this charitable event will address various patient needs, such as increasing mobile screening availability for early cancer detection, improving comprehensive assistance to all patients, and expanding treatment options.

The outcome is to strengthen the institute’s position as a leading cancer treatment hospital in the region, serving patients of Tennessee and North Georgia.

A Fun Family Event

The River City Ribbon Run is designed to offer fun and fitness for the entire family. It offers three categories: a timed 5K run, an untimed 5K walk, and a one-mile fun run. The day kicks off with registration, check-in, and warm-up activities from 8 a.m.

The 5K and one-mile runs will commence at 9 a.m., followed by the one-mile fun run and walk starting out at 9:15 a.m. As part of the morning’s activities until 11 a.m., participants and spectators can enjoy food trucks, a kids zone, and a health expo.

Registration Details

Participants are required to pay an entry fee of $30 for the 5K (run and walk), and $15 for the kids 5K run and fun run. Fees are inclusive of a commemorative 2024 River City Run t-shirt. Visitors can complete their registrations online by visiting the official CHI philanthropy website.

This race presents a great opportunity for fitness enthusiasts and families alike to come together for a health-centered event. Participants can enjoy a day of competition, camaraderie, and fun, all while contributing to a great cause that supports local cancer patients and their families.

The organizing committee of the River City Ribbon Run is looking forward to a successful event in April and encourages all locals to participate or offer their support.
