Road Closures in Hamilton County: Important Updates for Drivers

Road Work Alert for Hamilton County Drivers

Hey there, Hamilton County folks! If you’re hitting the roads in the coming days, you might want to pay attention to some construction news that could affect your commute. There are a couple of road closures happening that could make your drive a little tricky. So, grab a coffee, sit tight, and let’s dive into what you need to know!

The W Road Closure Update

First up, we have the W Road. This road has been closed since October 14, and originally, the plan was to have it reopened today, November 4. However, the reopening has been rescheduled to tomorrow evening, November 5, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. So, if you were counting on using the W Road today, you’ll need to find an alternative route, at least until then.

If you’re trying to access or leave beautiful Signal Mountain, you might want to consider using either Signal Mountain Boulevard or Roberts Mill Road. These routes are your best bet while the W Road remains closed. Good news for residents though—those living on W Road will still have access to their homes, and local deliveries to Walden’s Ridge Park are still on schedule!

Cooley Road Closure Details

Next, we have another closure to keep in mind. Cooley Road, located between Possum Trail Road and Birchwood Pike, is also going to be shut down tomorrow, November 5, 2024, but only during the day from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The reason for this closure? Crews will be hard at work replacing a storm pipe.

For those who need to navigate around the area, there will be a detour map provided to help guide you. Just be sure to look it over so you can find the best alternative route while those necessary repairs are underway. The good news is that residents living in that area will still have access to their homes, so they won’t be left stranded.

Be Prepared!

So, what’s the takeaway here? If you’re planning to hit the roads in Hamilton County, especially in the next couple of days, it’s best to stay informed about these closures. Make a plan, give yourself a bit of extra time for your commute, and keep those alternate routes in mind.

This kind of road work is essential for keeping our infrastructure safe and functional, even though it can be a bit inconvenient in the short term. So, hats off to the hardworking crews out there making our roads better for all of us!
