Chattanooga Hosts Annual Scenic City Wing Competition for Charity This Sunday

Chattanooga’s Wing Lovers Unite for a Spicy Showdown!

Get ready, Chattanooga! This Sunday, September 29th, the beloved Chattanooga Market is gearing up for a finger-licking good time with the annual Scenic City Wing Competition. Picture this: a day of tantalizing tastes, friendly competition, and a great cause, all wrapped up in one delicious event! From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., six local eateries will battle it out to see who truly serves the best wings in town.

A Wing-tastic Lineup

How do you feel about spicy? Messy? And downright delicious? Well, that’s exactly what you can expect when you attend this wing showdown! For just $15, attendees will get a chance to taste two wings from each of the six participating restaurants, totaling a dozen wings to feast upon. After sampling each unique flavor, you’ll have the power to vote for your favorite and help crown this year’s champion!

This competition is especially exciting because it features the reigning nine-time winner, 1885 Grill, known for their mouthwatering wings that have waltzed their way into the hearts—and stomachs—of many. Their wings are seasoned with a signature blend of spices from Alchemy Spice, which has become popular since its roots at the Chattanooga Market. The secret? Their process begins with marinating the wings using the ‘Proud to be American’ spice blend, then lightly battering them before deep frying to golden perfection and tossing them in their special Carolina Gold Sauce.

A Flavor Packed Experience

With each bite, you’ll be diving into a glorious mix of flavors while enjoying the warm community spirit that Chattanooga is known for. What sets this event apart is not just the tasty wings, but also the purpose behind it. The entire proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. So, munching on those wings not only gives you a delightful experience but allows you to play a part in solving hunger issues in the community. How awesome is that?

As attendees indulge in delicious wings, they’ll also witness live music on the Lodge Cast Iron Sizzle Stage. Who doesn’t love a good melody while enjoying their food, right? It’s the perfect way to soak in the atmosphere while hanging with friends and families.

The Goodies Beyond Wings

This year, the chicken wings will be generously donated by Koch Foods, making this event not only a competition but also a collective effort towards a noble cause. The Chattanooga Area Food Bank is dedicated to creating a community where everyone has access to healthy food and can work towards greater self-sufficiency. So, while your taste buds take you on an adventure, know that you are also helping make a difference in someone else’s life.

Join the Fun!

Think you’re ready to spice up your Sunday? Tickets can be easily purchased online, or you can grab them directly at the Chattanooga Area Food Bank tent during the event. For only $15, you’ll be diving into a tasty adventure and supporting a fantastic cause all at once.

Mark your calendars and grab your friends—this Sunday’s competition promises to be a world of flavor and fun. With a little bit of spice, a whole lot of mess, and barrels of laughter, the Scenic City Wing Competition is an event you don’t want to miss. See you there!
