Knoxville, it’s that time of year again! The Morning Pointe Foundation’s fourth annual Seniors Got Talent show is right around the corner, and it’s set to be a delightful evening filled with charm, creativity, and a lot of heart. Mark your calendars for November 12 at 7 p.m. and get ready to cheer on our marvelous senior performers at the iconic Bijou Theatre.
This year, a fantastic lineup of 12 senior acts will take the stage, each showcasing their unique talents. The performers vary widely, and you can expect to see everything from music and dance to comedy acts that are sure to tickle your funny bone. The excitement in the air is palpable as talents of all kinds come together to be part of this inspiring event.
What’s a talent show without some friendly competition? The grand-prize winner will receive a whopping $1,000, while the second and third places will take home $500 and $250, respectively. Not only will each contestant be judged on their technical ability, stage presence, and professionalism, but the originality and creativity of their acts will also play a significant role in their scores. You can almost feel the anticipation building as the contestants prepare to dazzle the audience!
The fun doesn’t stop there! Audience members will also get a chance to participate by casting their votes for the People’s Choice winner. Each vote is only $1, and all the proceeds from the voting will go directly to the Morning Pointe Foundation. It’s a great way to support our talented seniors while also helping an important cause.
Tickets for this heartwarming event are only $12 and can be purchased via the Bijou Theatre’s website or at morningpointefoundation.com. Just think—you’ll get an entertaining evening and support the Morning Pointe Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to providing nursing and other college scholarships.
This year’s emcee is none other than Ted Hall, the well-loved evening anchor and managing editor for a local television station. This marks his third year in a row hosting the event, and his energy is sure to add some special flair to the night. The judging panel features Nathan McGhee, general manager of the Bijou Theatre; Danielle Farrell, a businesswoman, author, and dancer; and Cecilia Wright, a board-certified music therapist, educator, and musician. These professionals are well-equipped to drop their expert opinions on the performances.
ETPS – a Guardian Pharmacy is returning as the presenting sponsor for this event, which is a great support for the local community. Additional sponsorship comes from a wide array of local businesses, such as First Horizon Bank, Chick-fil-A, and many more. It’s wonderful to see local businesses rally together for such a noble cause, enhancing the support for the talented seniors participating this year.
The Morning Pointe Foundation isn’t just about this event; they host four Seniors Got Talent shows each year, also showcasing talent in Chattanooga, Franklin, and Lexington, Kentucky. Since its founding in 1997, Morning Pointe has grown to operate 40 assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care communities across five states. Many in our community may already be familiar with the local campuses situated in Knoxville, Hardin Valley, Powell, Clinton, and Lenoir City. Excitingly, they’ll soon unveil a new memory care community in Knoxville, known as The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Hardin Valley, slated to open in early 2025.
So, whether you’re planning to laugh, cry, or cheer, the Seniors Got Talent show is a can’t-miss event! It promises to be an evening full of joy, creativity, and community spirit. Let’s come together to celebrate the incredible talents of our seniors—can’t wait to see you all there!
