Shooting Victim Found in Pick-up Truck off Rossville Boulevard

Chattanooga, Tenn.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Chattanooga police were called to the 3700 block of Rossville Boulevard, responding to reports of gunshots. The call came in just before 4:30 a.m., prompting an immediate response from officers.

On arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 61-year-old man inside his pickup truck, suffering from severe gunshot wounds. The victim was found bleeding heavily and in a critical state. Recognizing the urgency, officers began life-saving measures in an attempt to stabilize the victim until the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived.

The victim was swiftly transported by EMS to a local hospital for further treatment. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Investigation Underway

Initial investigations suggest that the victim was shot while stopped at an intersection. Authorities are actively seeking information from anyone who might have witnessed the incident or who may have relevant details about the shooting.
